Covert Cloak |
The best ability for Arboliva in Tera Raid Battles is Seed Sower, as it can offer its partners incremental recovery and a change in Terrain when Arboliva is hit by an attack.
We also recommend getting an Arboliva with a Grass Tera Type because this will boost Arboliva's STAB Giga Drain or Terrain Pulse when it Terastallizes. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
This build has Covert Cloak to protect it from the secondary effects of moves, such as paralysis, and other Status Effects.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Special Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense.
Arboliva Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1~3 | Use Energy Ball to accumulate Tera Orb Charge. |
Optional | Use Sunny Day to remove other weather effects. |
Turns 4+ | Once you have accumulated enough charge, terastallize into a Grass type and deal boosted damage with Giga Drain or Terrain Pulse. |
Arboliva's ability Seed Sower sets up Grassy Terrain passively, which will boost the damage of your Grass-type attacks. As a result, focus on accumulating Tera Orb Charge at the start of the battle using Energy Ball on the first three turns, instead of setting up stat-boosting moves.
Deal damage with Giga Drain to always recover HP, and use Terrain Pulse to deal even more damage when you are above 50% HP to finish the battle.
Raid Boss Tera Raid Barriers means you may end up running out of PP on Arboliva's moves even before you can terastallize. Make sure to use PP Up to max out Energy Ball, Giga Drain, and Terrain Pulse's PP to 16.

This Arboliva Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Ground, Rock, and Water Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Fire, Bug, or Fighting Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Arboliva will be weak to these Types as a Grass/Normal Type attacker.
