When you arrive at Team Star's Base you will first have to face a Team Star grunt in a battle. After that you will be met with waves of Team Grunt's Pokemon and the Team Star Boss Battle in quick succession, so make sure you prepare your team and items fully before approaching the base.

Type Chart: All Matchups and Effectiveness
Pokemon | Best Moves |
---|---|
Gardevoir | 【Best Moves】 ・ Psychic ・ Moonblast Being a dual Psychic-Fairy Type, Gardevoir quad resists Fighting type moves, making it the best choice for this base. It also deals STAB super effective damage to most of Eri's team with both its Psychic and Fairy Type moves. Its base form pre-evolution Ralts can be found very early in the game (before Los Platos). |
Azumarill | 【Best Move】 ・ Play Rough Azumarill hits most of the opposing Pokemon for weakness with its Play Rough move. Even when its not dealing super effective damage, if it has the Huge Power Ability it doubles its Attack stat to deal massive damage. |
Corviknight | 【Best Moves】 ・ Iron Defense ・ Brave Bird Hits all of the opposing Pokemon for weakness except for Lucario with the one Type of move. It also resists Lucario's Steel Type moves and Toxicroak's Poison Type moves making it an excellent answer to those 2 threats. Its Iron Defense Attack coupled with its already high Defense stat and great defensive Typing make it a bulky wall to Eri's Team. |
Utilize Fighting, Fairy and Flying Type Pokemon to deal with Eri's Fighting Type Pokemon. Gardevoir with its Dual Psychic-Fairy Typing is an excellent counter to Ortega's team as it quad resists Fighting Type moves and deals STAB super-effective damage to most of the Caph Squad's Pokemon. Corviknight complements Gardevoir well and is a great answer to Pokemon like Toxicroak, Annihilape and Lucario, which may threaten it.
Ability | Effect |
---|---|
Stamina | Increases the user's Defense by one stage each time it gets hit by an attack. |
Eri's Starmobile has the ability Stamina which increases its Defense by one stage each time it is hit by an attack. It also knows the move Shift Gear, a move which raises its Attack by one stage, as well as its Speed by two stages. Avoid dragging the battle out and allowing the Caph Starmobile to get too many boosts, by using Physical Pokemon, and opt to use Special Attackers instead to knock out the Starmobile faster.

※ You may only use 3 Pokemon in the Team Star base
Not only are Eri's Pokemon a very high level, but they use powerful moves such as Close Combat. Make sure you train your Pokemon up as much as you can before attempting this final Base. The Pokemon in North Province Area 1 which you will need to pass through on the way to the Base are all around Level 50, so make sure you take advantage of the Let's Go function along the way for some EXP grinding.
Exp Grinding: How to Level Up Fast
As all of Eri's Pokemon except for Annihilape have relatively low Special Defense, make sure you use Special based attacks. Psychic and Moonblast are two excellent examples of powerful Special attacks that hit for weakness. Having good Special attackers will also be crucial for dealing with the Starmobile's Ability at the end.
▲If you are using a Physical Attacker such as Gallade, it is difficult to take down the Starmobile, even with Type advantage.
The Caph Starmobile has the Ability Stamina, which raises its Defense by one stage each time it is attacked. So make sure you take it out quickly with Special based attacks. If you are using mostly Physical attackers though, Terastallize and use high damaging Tera STAB boosted Fairy, Psychic or Flying moves.

Annihilape has the powerful attack Rage Fist. Rage Fist's power increases each time Annihilape is hit by an attack, so make sure to take Annihilape out in as few turns as possible by hitting it for weakness with a strong Psychic, Fairy or Ghost Type attacker.
During your rematch against Eri, her Pokemon will now have better moves to counter her Fighting Type Pokemon's weaknesses. Primape for example, knows the moves Gunk Shot and Rock Slide to cover for its Fairy and Flying type weaknesses, respectively, but has no coverage against Psychic type Pokemon. This is common among all of Eri's Pokemon, with the sole exception being Toxicroak who has counter moves for each weakness. Take out Toxicroak quickly using Psychic type Pokemon with high Speed Stat, to try and exploit its 4x weakness to Psychic.
After defeating Eri's Pokemon, you will get the message prompt Would you like to switch Pokemon? Make sure you take advantage of this and switch out your Pokemon for a more effective counter.
