Moveset | ・
Foul Play
・ Tailwind ・ Haze ・ Taunt |
Murkrow is a reliable Support Pokemon because of its access to Prankster Tailwind. Haze is also a great move for resetting your own team's stats, or removing your opponent's stat buffs. This is great against opposing Dondozo and Tatsugiri or Pokemon who want to set up with moves like Swords Dance or Nasty Plot.
Taunt is a great move to use against Trick Room setters. Foul Play is a reliable damaging move that does not use Murkrow's own Attack Stat, which Murkrow can use to 2HKO Garchomp.
Air Slash | With a Timid Nature, Murkrow can run Air Slash and try to flinch opponents. |
---|---|
Brave Bird | As an alternative to Foul Play, Brave Bird lets Murkrow deal significant damage to Flying-weak Pokemon. It is worth noting that Murkrow has a higher Attack Stat than Talonflame. |
Prankster Tailwind is an extremely valuable asset for your team to have, as it lets your Pokemon outspeed most things. It can let a Garchomp outspeed and KO Dragapult with Dragon Claw, or tip mirror matches in your favor.
Haze is one of Murkrow's more powerful moves, and it can usually use it ahead of every other Pokemon thanks to Prankster. Haze is useful for resetting its teammates' stats after multiple Intimidates, or Make it Rains and Draco Meteors. It is also great for removing stat buffs from opposing Pokemon like Dondozo.
Murkrow is best used with Pokemon that have high damage potential. Pokemon such as Gholdengo and Hydreigon benefit from Tailwind support.
They also appreciate their Special Attack debuffs from Make it Rain and Draco Meteor getting Hazed away.
Prankster Support | Special Attacker |
---|---|
Murkrow | Gholdengo |
Physical Attacker | Special Attacker |
Garchomp | Hydreigon |
Murkrow offers its support through Speed Control with Tailwind and Hazing away negative stat drops. This is good for resetting Gholdengo's and Hydreigon's stats after using Make it Rain and Draco Meteor, as well as resetting Garchomp's Attack after getting Intimidated if it is not holding Clear Amulet.
It is often best to quickly knock out Murkrow before it can offer its teammates even more support. Usually one super-effective hit will do fine, unless it is carrying Focus Sash. In which case, you can double target it.
Murkrows rarely run Protect, so double targeting it should not be too difficult.
However, double targeting Murkrow frees up its teammate to set up or deal damage, so assess threats accordingly.
While Murkrow has access to Taunt, it cannot always stop Trick Room with it. Farigiraf has Armor Tail, while other Trick Room setters may run Mental Herb. Trick Room Setters are also usually assisted by Indeedee (Female), who is also unaffected by Prankster Taunt thanks to Psychic Surge.
