During your adventure in Paldea, you may encounter glowing wild Pokemon in the wild. These are Wild Tera Pokemon that you can encounter in the overworld.
At the time of writing there are no information available if these glowing Wild Tera Pokemon are set or random encounters, but we are speculating that both mechanics will be applied, much like how it was done for wild Alpha Pokemon back in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Wild Tera Pokemon can appear as low as level 8, which means that players are able to catch different Tera Pokemon early in the game!
This is useful for trainers who are planning to set up a varied team and maximize the Terastal Phenomenon on their adventure in Paldea.
All Terastal Forms and Tera Types
Glowing Wild Tera Pokemon can be caught just like any other wild Pokemon that can be encountered in the overworld, except they can only be caught once they are no longer Terastallized. They can be caught with any Poke Ball and can be renamed.
Wild Tera Pokemon will be Terastallized at the start of the encounter, but will return back to normal once their health is low.
Take note that as this returns the Pokemon to their original state, their type weaknesses and resistances will also go back to normal.
Make sure to pay attention to the wild Pokemon's typing if you are using a move once it is at low health or else you may accidentally do a super-effective move and knock it out!
A Pokemon's Tera Type can be viewed in a Pokemon's summary screen. The Tera type icon is different from the Pokemon's actual type.
