According to the story, they were corrupted by the greed of the King and after a long battle, were sealed away somewhere in Paldea. You'll grow even closer with Ms. Raifort after this!

You'll find Ms. Raifort again at the Entrance Hall, where she'll tell you that she's confirmed the existence of the four Pokemon of ruin. That's why she's sending you on a quest to find the shrines where they are held prisoner, and to remove the stakes that keep them in there.
