Fastest Stick Web user in the game. Unaffected by Fake Out thanks to its ability Shield Dust. Has a great supportive move pool. |
Ability | Held Item | |
---|---|---|
Shield Dust | Focus Sash |
The Ability chosen for Ribombee for this build is Shield Dust. This prevents Ribombee from getting affected by the secondary effects of moves like getting flinched from Fake Out or getting Paralyzed by Body Slam.
The item chosen for Ribombee for this build is Focus Sash. This allows it to get at least one move off before getting knocked out.
Sticky Web | Reflect |
Light Screen | Tailwind |
Sticky Web is the main move that makes Ribombee useful. This move reduces the speed of all grounded Pokemon on the opponent's side by one stage.
Reflect is used to reduce the amount of physical damage that your team takes by half. Light Screen is similar in that it reduces the amount of special damage that your team takes by half.
Tailwind allows your team to outspeed Pokemon that would otherwise be unaffected by Sticky Web, like Flying or Levitating Pokemon.
Since Ribombee is fragile and only meant to provide support, you shouldn't Terastallize it and save it instead for a more important Pokemon.
A full 252 EVs are put into Ribombee's HP and Speed to increase what little bulk it has while also making it as fast as possible. The extra 4 EVs are placed into its Defense to help round out its bulk.
A Timid nature is preferred to help maximize Ribombee's Speed stat.
Baton Pass | Pivots Ribombee out and brings an ally Pokemon in. Useful against Pokemon that would take advantage of Ribombee having no attacking moves. |
---|---|
Moonblast | Ribombee's strongest STAB Fairy attack if you do not want a fully supportive move pool. |
Bug Buzz | Ribombee's strongest STAB Bug attack if you do not want a fully supportive move pool. |
If you take Moonblast or Bug Buzz, remove the 252 EVs in HP and place them into Sp. Atk instead.
Sticky Web is a move that is best used with Pokemon that can take advantage of the opponent's Speed getting lowered. Unlike Tailwind, Sticky Web will remain on the field until it's removed by moves like Rapid Spin or Defog.
Ribombee is a frail Pokemon, but it has a lot of amazing supportive options. Pair it with Pokemon that can easily sweep the opponent's team when placed in an advantageous position.
Focus Sash Lead | Special Attacker | Physical Attacker |

Ribombee | Bloodmoon Ursaluna | Ogerpon |
Sticky Web Ribombee excels at helping its teammates outspeed a lot of the fast Pokemon in the current meta.
A Modest Bloodmoon Ursaluna with max Speed investment can end up outspeeding Rapid Strike Urshifu after a Speed drop from Stick Web. Also, after Stick Web, a Terastallized Ogerpon can now outspeed a Regieleki which makes it the fastest non-Choice Scarf Pokemon in the game.
Pokemon | Description |
---|---|
Talonflame | Ranking: ★★★★★
・Dual Wingbeat becomes a +1 priority move thanks to Gale Wings. ・Resists both of Ribombee's STAB moves. ▶️ Talonflame Best Movesets |
Urshifu Rapid-Strike Style | Ranking: ★★★★
・Surging Strikes will always crit and bypass Reflect. ・Can freely set up Swords Dance in Ribombee's face. ▶️ Rapid Strike Urshifu Best Movesets |
