Pokeball IconContrary with Leaf Storm and Tera Blast lets you set up you Sp. Atk while dealing damage

Pokeball IconGiga Drain lets you heal off damage letting you have access to other held items.

Pokeball IconBreaking Swipe lets you facetank more damage.

The best ability for Serperior in Tera Raid Battles is Contrary, as it will allow Serperior to boost its Special Attack instead of reducing it with Leaf Storm and Tera Blast.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Serperior with a Stellar Tera Type because this will boost Serperior's moves when it Terastallizes. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Special Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense.

Alternative Items

Due to Giga Drain's healing potency, here's some moves we could recommend that could help in certain types of raids that could be used instead of Shell Bell.

Tera Raid Strategy

Serperior Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Light Screen or Reflect to facetank some hits from the Raid Boss.
Turns 2~4 Use Leaf Storm to buff your Special Attack or Breaking Swipe to lower the Raid Boss' Attack while building Tera Orb charges.

Before Tera, you can use Breaking Swipe as a Defensive option or use Leaf Storm if the Raid Boss is a Special Attacker.

Due to its Stellar Typing, this Serperior Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to almost any Tera Raid Boss. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Fire, Flying, or Bug Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different Pokemon, as Serperior will be weak to these Types as a Stellar Type attacker.
