UPDATE 5/18: Link Pokemon HOME to Pokemon Scarlet or Violet

Starting May 24, 2023, you can receive a Hidden Ability Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly in the mobile version of Pokemon HOME by linking Pokemon HOME to Pokemon Scarlet or Violet. From there, you can transfer them to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and get all three starters in your game easily!

For those who want to get all three starters the old fashioned way, the method below still works to obtain all starters without any need to use Pokemon HOME.

Required Materials

Requirements Local Internet
Checkmark2 Nintendo Switches or a friend to trade with.
Checkmark2 copies of either Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet (or one of each).
CheckmarkA stable internet connection.
CheckmarkNintendo Switch Online membership (for both devices).

Steps to Get All Starters

Steps
1 On both devices, boot the game and start a new file. Be sure to use a Switch profile other than the one your main game is gaved to.
2 Leave your house and head towards the area marked on your map. Check the Pokemon's status now if you have a particular nature you wish to roll for.

3 Choose your Pokemon, then continue through the story, battling Nemora, catching Lechonk, going through the cave, then battling Arven and climbing the lighthouse.
4 Move forward toward the Poke Center and hear the explanation, at which point you will gain access too the Poke Portal from the menu.
5 Once you have the Poke Portal, open it and select Link Trade. You can now start trading!
6 Connect the two devices via Link Trade to start trading. Trade your starter from this new save game for an unwanted Pokemon on the other save..
7 Next, delete this save file for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet from your friend's Nintendo Switch or your other device.

Do this by pressing HOME and closing the software. Then, go to the Switch System Settings > Data Managememt > Delete Save Data. From there, you can start a new saved game to repeat.
Additionally you can begin a saved game on a new Switch profile using the same device.
8 Finally, rinse and repeat the process until you have all the starters from the game.

Additional Notes

Additional Notes
Checkmark It takes about 30 to 35 minutes from the start of the game until the point where you can trade, so doing this to get all starters will take roughly an hour.

Checkmark Make sure to set text speed to "Fast" as soon as you are given the option. Pressing buttons during the dialogue will also make dialogue pass by quicker (we recommend hitting ZL and ZR repeatedly).

Checkmark Avoid all wild Pokemon, and do not talk to anyone on your path, especially trainers. If you do enter a battle, just run away.

Checkmark You must have two Pokemon before you can trade, but you will be prompted to catch Lechonk after your fight with Nemora.

Checkmark If you wish to obtain all starters for both you and your friend, you will need to repeat the process of collecting and trading a starter to another device a total of four times on one device. Then on the fifth run through, have your friend return two of the starter Pokemon back to you after getting the Poke Portal. Alternatively, you can both do the method and trade to each other's main saves twice.

For a quicker, passive approach to obtaining all starters, you could also try trading! Although starter Pokemon are in high demand due to only being available once per save, a good trade on your end may help you find what you are looking for!
