Summary

Summary
Pokeball Icon Tera Water lets it keep its resistance to Steel.

Pokeball Icon Immunity to Dragon moves and Resists or takes Neutral hits from Dialga's other moves.

Pokeball Icon Fastest set up thanks to Belly Drum!

Best Tera Type

We recommend getting a Azumarill with a Water Tera Type to make sure that it can resist Dialga's Steel Beam instead of it being a neutral hit.

As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense to increase survivability while dealing as much damage as possible. Max out its Atk and Sp. Def EVs, while adding the rest into HP.

Give it a Shell Bell so that it can heal itself while using its attacking moves.

Tera Raid Strategy

Azumarill Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Belly Drum to max out Azumarill's Attack.
Turn 2 Use Play Rough to build up Tera Orb charge and heal Azumarill.
Turn 3 Use Belly Drum again after Dialga resets your stats.
Turns 4~5 Use Play Rough until you can Terastallize.
Turns 6+ Terastallize and use Play Rough until Dialga's defeated.

At the start of the raid, use Belly Drum to max out Azumarill's Attack to +6. You then use Play Rough to heal Azumarill and force Dialga to put up its shield.

Once its shield is up, Dialga should reset all your stat buffs. Make sure to use Belly Drum again so that Azumarill is back to +6 Attack.

After that is done, you can spam Play Rough until Dialga has been defeated. You can also Terastallize to make Azumarill resist Steel Beam instead of it being a neutral hit.

Summary

The best ability for Azumarill in Tera Raid Battles is Huge Power. This ability doubles the user's Attack stat - allowing it to deal massive blows to its opponents.

Best Tera Type: Fairy

We also recommend getting an Azumarill with a Fairy Tera Type because of its immunity to Dragon and the boost it gives to its Fairy-type STAB. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.

EV Spread Explanation: Bulky Offense

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. Give it a Shell Bell to recover HP when dealing damage with Play Rough.

Other Viable Held Items

Item Effect
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Life Orb ImageLife Orb An item to help increase Azumarill's damage output at the expense of losing 10% of its own HP upon dealing damage. As this build does not give Azumarill any healing options aside from the Heal-Up Cheer, caution is advised

Tera Raid Strategy

Turn-by-Turn Raid Strategy
Turn 1 Use Belly Drum to maximize Azumarill's Attack stat
Turn 2 Use Misty Terrain to power up Azumarill's Play Rough and protect it from status conditions.
Turns 3+ Terastallize into a Fairy-type and use boosted Play Rough.
Reset Misty Terrain/Belly Drum when necessary.

Start a Tera Raid Battle by using Belly Drum to maximize your Attack Stat.

Next set up a Misty Terrain to boost Fairy Type damage output, as well as protect yourself and your team from status conditions.

Finally, attack with Play Rough, terastallizing when possible.

Summary

This Build is designed to counter Fire Tera Pokemon in Tera Raids. Azumarill's solid defenses lets it take neutral damage from most other types. It also has access to Misty Terrain to protect itself from status conditions, and Rain Dance to further boost Liquidation's power.
Belly Drum is great for quickly maximizing Azumarill's attack stat, making way for powerful super-effective Liquidations.

Best Tera Type: Water

We recommend getting an Azumarill with a Water Tera Type to use in Fire-type Tera Raids so that it can get an additional boost on its STAB when it Terastallizes. As a Physical Attacker, an Adamant nature would be best.

EV Spread Explanation: Bulky Offense

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Sitrus Berry allows Azumarill to restore most of its lost HP after using Belly Drum.

Other Viable Hold Items

Item Effect
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Shell Bell ImageShell Bell An item that allows Azumarill to recover 1/8 of the damage it dealt as HP. As Azumarill will be doing a lot of damage in Tera Raids, the amount of HP it can recover is also great.

Tera Raid Strategy

Azumarill Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Belly Drum to maximize Azumarill's attack.
Turns 2~4 Use Misty Terrain if Azumarill is threatened to be put to sleep by Yawn.
Turns 5+ Use Rain Dance to further boost Liquidation's power.

Similar to the standard Belly Drum Azumarill build, you will want to start a Tera Raid Battle by using Belly Drum to maximize your Attack Stat, before attacking with either Liquidation.

Use Misty Terrain in anticipation of status moves to protect Azumarill, and use Rain Dance on passive turns to boost Liquidation's power.

Summary

This Azumarill build is specialized to counter Pokemon weak to Ice-type moves.

The best ability for Azumarill in Tera Raid Battles is Huge Power. This ability doubles the user's Attack stat - allowing it to deal massive blows to its opponents.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting an Azumarill with an Ice Tera Type to boost the damage of Ice Spinner.

Give it a Shell Bell to recover HP when dealing damage with Ice Spinner.

Tera Raid Strategy

Azumarill Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Belly Drum to maximize Azumarill's Attack stat.
Turns 2~4 Use Ice Spinner to deal Super Effective damage.
Turn 5 Terastallize and use Snowscape to increase Azumarill's Defense.
Turns 6+ Use STAB Ice Spinner to deal Super Effective damage. Re-apply Belly Drum or Snowscape as needed.

Start the battle off by using Belly Drum to maximize Attack, followed by Ice Spinner to deal damage while also building up your Tera Orb Charge.

Once you have enough Tera Orb Charge, Terastallize and use Snowscape to increase your Defense from being under Snow. From there, continue using Ice Spinner, which now has increased damage, thanks to the STAB from your Ice Tera type.
