Stealth Rock and Toxic Spikes are some of the moves that set entry hazards in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to learn more about these moves and their stats.

Moves that Generate Entry Hazards

Move Type Effect
Spikes Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Ground Type Moves Hurts the opponent's Pokemon that switch into the battlefield depending on the amount of layers placed by the user. 1 layer damages by 12.5% max HP, 2 layers damages by 16% max HP, and 3 or more layers damages by 25% max HP. The move has no effect on Flying-type Pokemon and Pokemon with Levitate ability.
Stealth Rock Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Rock Type Moves Sets rocks that hurt the opponents switching into battle. The amount of damage this move does depends on how weak the opponent is against Rock type moves. The opponent will receive 1/6 damage if the type is not every effective (x0.5), 1/8 damage if the type is neutral (x1), and 1/4 damage if the type is super effective (x2).
Sticky Web Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Bug Type Moves Sets a web that lowers the opponent's Speed by one stage upon switching into the battlefield. The move does not affect Flying-type Pokemon, Pokemon with Levitate ability, and Pokemon with Air Balloon as a held item.
Toxic Spikes Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Poison Type Moves Sets toxic spikes that badly poisons the opponent switching into battle. The amount of damage this move does depends on how many layers the user has placed. Badly poisoned Pokemon will receive an increasing amount of damage each turn. In contrast, poisoned Pokemon will receive a fixed amount of damage each turn.

Moves that Remove Entry Hazards

Move Type Effect
Defog Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Flying Type Moves Lowers the opponent's Evasion by one stage. Removes Entry Hazards and Barriers on both the user and opponent's side of the field.
Rapid Spin Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Normal Type Moves The user removes moves that trap Pokemon and increases the user's Speed by one stage. Moves that trap Pokemon are the following: Bind, Clamp, Fire Spin, Infestation, Leech Seed, Magma Storm, Sand Tomb, Snap Trap, Spikes, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web, Toxic Spikes, Whirlpool, Wrap.
Mortal Spin Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Poison Type Moves The user performs a spin attack that can also eliminate the effects of such moves as Bind, Wrap, and Leech Seed. This also poisons opposing Pokémon.
Tidy Up Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Normal Type Moves The user removes Substitute decoys and moves that trap Pokemon. The user's Attack and Speed stats are also raised by one stage.

Entry Hazards Effects

An entry hazard is a condition that affects one side of the field. These hazards afflict effects depending on different factors such as Pokemon-type, amount of hazards placed, and items held.

Entry Hazards are usually generated by status moves.

Entry Hazard Causes Effect
Pointed Stones Stealth Rock Deals damage to Pokemon upon entry. The damage is treated as a Rock-type move making it strong against Bug, Fire, and Flying-type Pokemon.
Spikes Spikes Deals damage to Grounded-Pokemon upon entry. Spikes can be stacked up to three times; each one increases the damage dealt.
Sticky Web Sticky Web Reduces the speed of Grounded-Pokemon by one stage upon entry.
Poison Spikes Toxic Spikes Poisons Grounded-Pokemon upon entry. Poison Spikes can be stacked twice, the second one badly poisons the Pokemon instead.
