Minior has different colored variants across the Terarium in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) The Indigo Disk DLC. Discover all Minior color locations, how to spot a Shiny Minior, and a short guide on catching Minior in this guide!
Minior Color Locations | |
---|---|
Minior's color variants are found in separate locations across the Terarium. Still, they are primarily found in mountainous areas or deep below in caves.
See the section below to find the exact locations of each color variant.
Red Core | |

---|---|
The Red Minior is located in the Torchlit Labyrinth of the Coastal Biome. An entrance to the cave can be accessed directly south of the Coastal Outdoor Classroom fly-point.
Orange Core | |

---|---|
You can find the Orange Minior on top of the mountainous area at the northern half of the Canyon Biome. The Canyon Rest Area is the closest fly-point to this area.
Yellow Core | |

---|---|
The Yellow Minior is found inside the Chargestone Cavern in the Canyon Biome. Fly to the Polar Outdoor Classroom in the Polar Biome and enter the large cave opening towards the south to quickly enter the cave.
Green Core | |

---|---|
You can find the Green Minior on the southern mountain of the Coastal Biome. Fly to the Coastal Outdoor Classroom to access this area quickly.
Blue Core | |
Map Image | Overworld Image |
---|---|
The Blue Minior is found at the top of the Polar Biome's mountain to the south. The Polar Outdoor Classroom 2 fly-point is on the top of this mountain.
Indigo Core | |
Map Image | Overworld Image |
---|---|
The Indigo Minior is inside the cave near the Coastal Plaza Bridge. Fly to the Coastal Rest Area and travel north to the bridge. The cave will be below the cliff to the northern part of the bridge.
Violet Core | |
Map Image | Overworld Image |
---|---|
The Violet Minior can be found inside the cave east of Polar Classroom 2 at the Polar Biome. You need to head two levels down the cave to find this Minior.
Shiny Core |
Each Minior color variant has the same shiny color and, therefore, can be found in any location in the Terarium where Minior can spawn.
Note that the Meteor Form of a Shiny Minior and a Non-Shiny one are identical. There are mainly two ways of identifying a Shiny Minior without having them change into their Core Form.
One way to spot a Shiny Meteor is to have your active Pokemon in Auto-Battle Mode. Your Pokemon will automatically battle any nearby Pokemon except for shiny Pokemon. If your Pokemon refuses to fight a specific Minior, it is likely a Shiny one.
A slower and safer method is to individually battle each Minior and look for the shiny effect the Minior should have at the start of the battle as any shiny Pokemon has. This method is safer if you're searching for a Shiny Minior in a Mass Outbreak where you want to stop battling Pokemon.
If you are planning on catching a Shiny Minior, be sure to have a way to disable Minior's Explosion or Self-destruct moves with effects such as the Damp ability, as those moves will cause them to faint and end the encounter.
How to Shiny Hunt at Mass Outbreaks
Item | Effect |
---|---|
Quick Ball | A Poke Ball that makes it easier to catch Pokemon earlier in the battle. If used within the first turn, the capture rate is 5x, if not the capture rate is 1x. |
The most common moves that Minior would use during the first turn are either Self-Destruct or Explosion, which immediately causes them to faint. It is best to use a Quick Ball on the first turn to have an increased chance of catching it before the encounter ends with the mentioned moves.
List of All Poke Balls and How to Get
Ability | Effect |
---|---|
Damp | Prevents the use of explosive, self-destructing moves while the user is in the battlefield. |
To counter Minior's Self-Destruct and Explosion moves and prevent it from ending the battle early, fight against it with a Pokemon with the Damp ability. This ability disables such moves and gives you more time to prepare to catch it.
This strategy is best used when hunting a Shiny Minior.

I don't understand pages like this or on Serebii saying certain colors are in certain locations. I'm on the top of the mountain in the Polar Biome and just had a green and red.
