・ Wide Guard ・ Drain Punch ・ Knock Off |
Hariyama is a powerful Trick Room sweeper who can also help enable it by supporting its partner with Fake Out. Fake Out also affords Hariyama a turn to activate its Flame Orb and give itself an Attack boost from Guts.
Steel is Hariyama's Tera Type of choice because it allows Hariyama to resist moves that its Fighting Typing is weak against, making it even harder to KO.
Knock Off is a strong move on its own but it is also disruptive. It is great for removing Berries, Choice Items, Eviolites from Murkrows, as well as OHKO-ing most Gholdengo.
Wide Guard is a great defensive move especially in Ranked Battles, but it may be less useful in Open Team Sheets tournaments since opponents can play around it.
Finally, Drain Punch is a good recovery option able to deal good damage even on neutral hits.
Bullet Punch | A solid Priority Move that can allow Hariyama to get damage off outside of Trick Room |
---|---|
Headlong Rush | Headlong Rush is a powerful Ground-type move that you can consider if your team lacks Ground-type coverage. |
Hariyama can consistently help its partner enable Trick Room by protecting it with Fake Out. It is often good to target Pokemon with Attacks that could threaten the Trick Room Setter with Fake Out.
Hariyama can also protect its teammates with Wide Guard when under threat of Spread Moves like Earthquake and Discharge.
Hariyama thrives under Trick Room where it can Attack as it pleases without its meager defenses being tested. Teammates that can set up Trick Room for it can help Hariyama score decisive KOs.
Physical Attacker | Trick Room Setter |
---|---|
Hariyama | Farigiraf |
Special Attacker | Physical Attacker |
Torkoal | Annihilape |
Trick Room is very difficult to deny when leading with Hariyama and Farigiraf.
Hariyama can Fake Out opposing Spore users like Amoonguss or Breloom, or non-Priority Taunt users like Talonflame or Corviknight, that can slip through Farigiraf's Armor Tail Ability.
Torkoal can come in when either of the leads get KOd and sweep, while Annihilape can stay in the back and be ready to pick off low HP Pokemon late game.
Pokemon that Hariyama cannot deal meaningful damage to are difficult for it to deal with. Pokemon that can outspeed outside of Trick Room and hit Hariyama with super-effective damage are also difficult to go up against.

・Is immune to Fake Out and can bring Hariyama to low HP with Final Gambit ・Bulk Up Annihilape can trade damage favorably and replenish health with Drain Punch. ▶️Annihilape Best Movesets |
