This hyper offensive team highlights Wellspring Mask Ogerpon, one of the newest Pokemon introduced in the Teal Mask DLC. This team has a lot of strong Physical and Special Attackers with primarily offensive Terastallization options that can deal a lot of immediate damage.
Nature | Jolly (+Spe, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 252 Atk / 4 Sp. Def / 252 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 155 HP / 172 Atk / 104 Def / 117 Sp. Def / 178 Spe |
Ability | Water Absorb |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Wellspring Mask |
Moveset | ・
Ivy Cudgel
・ Horn Leech ・ Knock Off ・ U-turn |
Wellspring Mask Ogerpon, the Water form, is an excellent counter against Rapid-Strike Urshifu and other Water Types that Ogerpon can hit super-effectively with Horn Leech.
Its signature move Ivy Cudgel is Ogerpon's strongest STAB move that becomes a Water-type when used by this Ogerpon form. Ogerpon's other moves, Knock Off and U-turn are good utility options that can help you position better or throw off your opponent's strategy.
This Ogerpon form is one of the bulkier ones, gaining a Special Defense boost upon Terastallization through its Embody Aspect Ability.
Wellspring Mask Ogerpon Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Adamant (+Atk, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 68 HP / 196 Atk / 4 Def / 4 Sp. Def / 236 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 173 HP / 209 Atk / 111 Def / 101 Sp. Def / 141 Spe |
Ability | Intimidate |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Choice Scarf |
Moveset | ・
U-turn
・ Earthquake ・ Stone Edge ・ Tera Blast |
Landorus is an excellent counter to Ogerpon's different forms. Its Intimidate ability lowers the opponent's Attack stat by one stage. With a Choice Scarf, it can also easily outspeed Ogerpon.
A Flying-type Tera Blast can knock out most Ogerpon forms and other Pokemon weak to the move. Earthquake is a reliable STAB move if you don't want to commit your Tera to Landorus.
Landorus is also a good Pokemon to have as a lead since it can easily switch out while dealing damage using U-turn and help put you in a more favorable position.
Landorus Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Adamant (+Atk, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 244 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 Sp. Def / 4 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 197 HP / 204 Atk / 116 Def / 121 Sp. Def / 101 Spe |
Ability | Multiscale |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Rocky Helmet |
Moveset | ・
Roost
・ Encore ・ Extreme Speed ・ Earthquake |
This bulky Dragonite will gladly take hits while it wears a Rocky Helmet. Roost allows Dragonite to stay on the field longer and can also allow it to reactivate its Multiscale Ability.
Dragonite can deal a lot of priority damage when using Extreme Speed, especially when Terastallized, but Earthquake can also do a lot of damage against Pokemon that don't resist it.
Dragonite Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Timid (+Spe, -Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 4 HP / 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 131 HP / 75 Def / 187 Sp. Atk / 155 Sp. Def / 205 Spe |
Ability | Protosynthesis |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Booster Energy |
Moveset | ・
Calm Mind
・ Moonblast ・ Shadow Ball ・ Mystical Fire |
This is a fast Flutter Mane build that gains a Speed boost when its Protosynthesis Ability activates. When it isn't immediately threatened by the opponent, it can also strengthen its Special Attack and Special Defense stats by using Calm Mind.
Flutter Mane has several good offensive moves, the strongest of which is Moonblast especially when Flutter Mane is Terastallized. Shadow Ball is best used against Pokemon that resist Fairy-type moves, and Mystical Fire is ideal against Special Attackers and Pokemon weak to Fire-type moves.
Flutter Mane Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Jolly (+Spe, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 155 HP / 172 Atk / 101 Def / 85 Sp. Def / 205 Spe |
Ability | Sword of Ruin |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Focus Sash |
Moveset | ・
Icicle Crash
・ Crunch ・ Sucker Punch ・ Tera Blast |
Chien-Pao is a fast and strong Physical Attacker. However, it can be a bit frail. The Focus Sash item allows it to take at least two hits, which should be enough for it to deal devastating damage to the opponent.
Chien-Pao can Terastallize into the Electric Type defensively to turn its many weaknesses into only a 2x weakness to Ground-type moves. It can also Terastallize offensively to turn Tera Blast into a strong Electric-type move that can knock out Rapid-Strike Urshifu.
Chien-Pao Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Modest (+Sp. Atk, -Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Sp. Atk |
Final Stat Values | 198 HP / 127 Def / 200 Sp. Atk / 126 Sp. Def / 97 Spe |
Ability | Flash Fire |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Assault Vest |
Moveset | ・
Flash Cannon
・ Earth Power ・ Magma Storm ・ Tera Blast |
This bulky Heatran build is good both defensively and offensively. The Assault Vest item improves Heatran's already decent Special Defense, making this Pokemon difficult to knock out.
Heatran's moveset consists of strong Special moves that can deal a good amount of damage to many Pokemon in the current metagame. Its move Magma Storm also allows it to trap the opponent in addition to doing damage every turn.
While Heatran can Terastallize defensively, Tera Fairy is primarily used as an offensive Terastallization for this build in order to turn Tera Blast into a strong Fairy-type move.
Heatran Movesets and Best Builds
Lead Recommendations | |
---|---|
Heatran |
Landorus (Therian Forme) |
Heatran has one of the best move coverage options in this team, which makes it a solid lead option. It can deal super-effective damage to a lot of commonly used Pokemon, and its bulk allows it to stay on the field unless threatened by strong super-effective attacks such as Ground-type moves and Chien-Pao's Sacred Sword.
Landorus is a good lead against teams with a lot of Physical Attackers because of its Intimidate Ability. If the match-up isn't in your favor, you can also easily switch out by using U-turn.
However, you must be careful when sending Landorus out against teams that have Pokemon with either the Defiant or Competitive Abilities.
Defensive Recommendations | |
---|---|
Dragonite |
Ogerpon (Wellspring Mask) |
Dragonite can take most Attacks because of its impressive bulk and Multiscale Ability. It can then hit back hard with +2 priority Extreme Speed or it can heal up the damage with Roost.
Wellspring Mask Ogerpon can be switched in to take Rapid-Strike Urshifu's Surging Strikes. It won't take any damage because of its Water Absorb ability.
Both lead recommendations, Heatran and Landorus, can also be used as defensive pieces on this team.
Late Game Recommendations | |
---|---|
Chien-Pao |
Flutter Mane |
Chien-Pao and Flutter Mane are both strong, offensive Pokemon that can easily win matches if your opponent isn't positioned properly. If your opponent loses their counters to these powerhouses, Chien-Pao and Flutter Mane can clean up your opponent's remaining Pokemon.
