Summary

The best Ability for Clodsire for this build is Unaware, which allows it to ingore stat increases from Typhlosion.

Best Tera Type

Ground Tera Type is chosen for this build to boost the power of Earth Power.

Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense. Max out your HP and Sp.Def EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Attack.

Giving Clodsire a Shell Bell ensures it doesn't need to solely rely on Recover to heal off damage and can instead get passive healing as it attacks Typhlosion.

Tera Raid Strategy

Clodsire Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1~3 Use Earth Power to deal damage and build up Tera Orb Charge.
Note:Even if Clodsire faints, it will still retain its Tera Orb Charge.
Turns 4~6 Use Acid Spray three times to lower Typhlosion's Sp.Def by 6 stages.
Note: Make sure to use this move after Typhlosion resets all stat changes.
Turns 7+ Continue dealing damage with Earth Power. Once you have enough Tera Orb Charge, terastallize into a Ground-type and use boosted Earth Power to deal damage to Typhlosion's shield and finish the battle.

Start the battle by using Earth Power to deal damage and build up Tera Orb Charge. Clodsire will still retain its charges even if it faints.

Once Typhlosion resets all stat changes, use Acid Spray three times to lower Typhlosion's Sp.Def by 6 stages.

Continue using Earth Power to deal damage and, once you have enough Tera Orb Charge, terastallize into a pure Ground-type and use boosted Earth Power to damage Typhlosion's shield and finish it off.

Summary

The best ability for Clodsire in Tera Raid Battles is Water Absorb, which gives it immunity to Water-type moves and restores its HP instead.

Coupled with its immunity to Poison, Clodsire is a reliable bulky Pokemon to bring to Tera Raids.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Clodsire with a Ground Tera Type to boost the power of its Ground-type STAB. Since it's a physical attacker, an Adamant nature is best to boost its offenses.

EV Spread Explanation: Bulky Offense

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Leftovers gives Clodsire passive healing while it uses its support and boosting moves.

Tera Raid Strategy

Clodsire Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Yawn to put the opposing Pokemon to sleep on the next turn.
Turns 2~3 Use Curse to increase Clodsire's Attack and Defense.
Note: Curse will also reduce Clodsire's Speed stat by one stage.

Use Earthquake or High Horsepower to deal STAB super-effective damage. Once you get enough Tera charge, terastallize into a Ground-type to deal boosted damage.
Turns 5+ Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV Ground Tera Type Clodsire
Once you get enough Tera charge, terastallize into a Ground-type to deal boosted damage with Earthquake or High Horsepower.

Start the Tera Raid battle with Yawn to put the opposing Pokemon to sleep on the next turn, then boost Clodsire's Attack and Defense with Curse. Use Recover to heal off lost health and when you have enough Tera Orb charge, terastallize into a Ground-type and use boosted Earthquake.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Clodsire with a Grass Tera Type because this will change its Tera Blast to Grass when it Terastallizes. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Special Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense.

Tera Raid Strategy

Optional Use Recover when HP gets too low.
Turns 4+ Terastallize and use Tera Blast to whittle down the Raid Pokemon's HP.

Start the Tera Raid battle by using Acid Spray three times to reduce the Raid Pokemon's Special Defense by 6 stages, while charging your Tera Orb. Use Recover when needed to replenish HP.

Once you have enough Tera Orb charge, terastallize into a Grass-type and use boosted Tera Blast repeatedly to finish the raid.
