Moveset | ・
Ice Spinner
・ Liquidation ・ Earthquake ・ Ice Shard |
Cetitan's natural bulk and respectable physical coverage make it a great attacker for dedicated Snow teams, using its Slush Rush Ability to outspeed its usual checks and counters even with just an Adamant Nature. Life Orb is the preferred held item for this build, boosting the power of its moves at the cost of some HP lost.
Ice Spinner is its main STAB move and is a strong Ice-type move that also removes terrain from the field. Liquidation is a great coverage move, and gets STAB once it terastallizes into a Water-type.
Earthquake provides great neutral coverage and allows Cetitan to threaten Fire and Rock-types that it's weak to before terastallizing. Ice Shard is its last move and has +1 priorty to hit faster opponents that it can't outspeed even with Slush Rush.
Cetitan's great physical coverage allows it to threaten many Pokemon used as checks or counters to dedicatedd Snow teams.
Damage Dealt by Cetitan |
|
---|---|
Ice Spinner 187-221 (111.9 - 132.3%) Guaranteed OHKO even with Multiscale |
|
Liquidation 151-179 (73.3 - 86.8%) Guaranteed 2HKO |
|
Earthquake 127-151 (66.1 - 78.6%) Guaranteed 2HKO |
|
Ice Shard 109-127 (80.1 - 93.3%) Guaranteed 2HKO |
Icicle Crash | This egg move is a stronger Ice-type STAB that also has 30% chance to flinch the opponent, but doesn't have perfect accuracy. |
---|---|
Play Rough | An alternative to Earthquake that hits Fighting, Dark, and Dragon-types for super effective damage, |

Held Item | Sitrus Berry |
Moveset | ・
Belly Drum
・ Ice Spinner ・ Earthquake ・ Liquidation |
Cetitan's natural bulk and the 50% Defense boost from Snow makes it a great Belly Drum user in Doubles. This egg move cuts Cetitan's HP in half but also raises its Attack stat by 6 stages, while Sitrus Berry ensures it recovers lost health immediately after using it.
Ice Spinner is its main STAB move and is a strong Ice-type STAB that also remove terrain. Earthquake is a strong coverage move that hits both opponents, along with Cetitan's partner.
Liquidation is its last move and gets STAB once Cetitan terastallizes into a Water-type. Keep in mind that only Ice-types get the Defense boost from Snow, so it's best to terastallize Cetitan after it gets the boost from Belly Drum.
Cetitan's boosted Attack stat makes it difficult to switch into in Doubles, especially if it has Rage Powder support to keep it healthy. The following damage calculations factor in Belly Drum's +6 Attack boost.
Damage Dealt by Cetitan |
|
---|---|
Ice Spinner 455-538 (211.6 - 250.2%) Guaranteed OHKO after a Belly Drum Boost |
|
Earthquake 344-408 (154.9 - 183.7%) Guaranteed 2HKO after a Belly Drum Boost |
|
Liquidation 165-194 (75.6 - 88.9%) Guaranteed 2HKO after a Belly Drum Boost despite resisting |
Play Rough | Can replace Earthquake to prevent Cetitan from hitting its ally Pokemon, but is a generally weaker coverage move. |
---|---|
Heavy Slam | Another great coverage move that can replace Earthquake or Liquidation if running Steel Tera type. Keep in mind that the move's power is strongest when Cetitan is heavier than the opposing Pokemon. |
Cetitan's Slush Rush Ability gives it surprising speed for such a bulky Pokemon, making it one of the better choices for physical attacker in dedicated Snow teams.
Access to a wide physical movepool also gives it great offensive options, as well as many alternative Tera types to cover its weaknesses.
Access to Belly Drum as an Egg Move makes Cetitan a great choice for Belly Drum in Doubles. It's also one of the few Belly Drum users that can setup with little support, only requiring the 50% Defense Boost from Snow to setup safely.
Cetitan's only niche is as a physical attacker in a dedicated Snow team as it struggles to outspeed other slower attackers without the Speed boost.
Lead Support | Physical Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Slowking | Cetitan | Iron Bundle |
Slowking is this team's weather setter, setting up Snow using its Chilly Reception which also conveniently switches it out to Cetitan who will instantly get the Slush Rush boost.
Once it switches, it's best to keep Cetitan an Ice-type to take advantage of the 50% Defense boost. Only terrastalize into a Water-type to surprise an opposing Fire-type.
Iron Bundle is this team's Special Attacker and also appreciates the Defense boost from Chilly Reception's Snow.
Lead Attacker | Abomasnow |
---|---|
Cetitan | Abomasnow |
Redirection Support | Special Attacker |
Amoonguss | Heat Rotom |
Cetitan's main role is to setup with Belly Drum as soon as the match starts, with Abomasnow providing immediate Snow support with its Snow Warning Ability.
While Abomasnow can provide some utility by using Leech Seed, it's best to switch it out with Amoonguss once it's done setting the weather. The Mushroom Pokemon can then provide additional support by using Spore, or by redirecting attacks using Rage Powder and healing Cetitan with Pollen Puff.
Heat Rotom serves as this team's special attacker, providing strong Fire and Electric-type STAB and can also burn opposing physical setup sweepers with Will-O-Wisp.
Cetitan is reliant on Snow set up by either Snow Warning or Chilly Reception to outspeed its usual checks and counters. Without it, it's easy to outspeed even if it has full Speed investment.
