Because of Darkrai's paper-thin defenses, Focus Sash is used to make sure it survives more than one hit.

Dark Void is Darkrai's Signature Move and is this set's most important Attack. This can put both opponents to Sleep but is not very accurate.

Dark Pulse is Darkrai's main damaging move which can cause opponents to flinch.

A Sun Team involving Sandy Shocks is a great team composition to put Darkrai in. Timid Sandy Shocks with Booster Energy can outspeed most Pokemon on the field, allowing it to quickly use Gravity, for a Dark Void follow up from Darkrai.

Use Bulky Fighting-Types

Bulky Fighting-types like Hariyama can easily resist Darkrai's Dark-type Attacks. Additionally, Hariyama often have Flame Orb as their Held Items, which can Burn them and protect them from other Status Conditions.

Use Fast Fairy-Types

Fast Fairy-types like Flutter Mane can outspeed and bring Darkrai down to its Focus Sash with a successful Dazzling Gleam or Moonblast. It also benefits from your team's Sun, which you don't want for your opponent's team.
