Our team came up with a list of all the Pokemon that we think should and should not return to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Read on to learn which Pokemon we think should return to the upcoming game and those that should not!
List of Contents
Greninja |
Greninja has always been a fan favorite. It has not been around in a while so it is about time it comes back to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It would be nice to finally get access to Battle Bond Greninja again as well!
Delphox |
Continuing the return of the Kalos starters, Delphox has been a favorite among fans too because of its design. It ended the reign of Fire/Fighting starters, so her good omen may stop Fuecoco from evolving into one too.
Chesnaught |
Chesnaught is the last of the three Kalos starters and just like the other two, it has not been around in a while. If we were to bring a Fighting-type starter back, Chesnaught is a decent choice. It would definitely do well against the many Normal-type Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Tauros |
Tauros would be a great addition to the Paldea Pokedex because, well, it's a bull! The Paldea region is based on Spain and the country is well-known for bullfighting so Tauros would fit really well in the region. A Paldean Tauros sounds really nice too!
Hawlucha |
Hawlucha would also be a great addition to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet because of its design. It is based on a Luchador, a wrestler, and Spain is known for its people's passion for wrestling. Plus, it's been a while since we've seen Hawlucha in action so it's time to give it more love!
Ursaluna |
The new Pokemon from Legends: Arceus stole the hearts of many Pokemon fans and they would surely be very pleased to have them come back in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet!
One particularly loved Hisuian Pokemon is Ursaluna, Ursaring's evolution. It would be great to see this massive Pokemon roaming around Paldea. It also comes with its signature move Headlong Rush - a strong Ground-type move with 100 base power and 100 accuracy!
Enamorus |
The three Forces of Nature have had their taste of the spotlight, it's time for the fourth genie to get some of the attention.
Enamorus was first introduced in Legends: Arceus and fans would surely love to see more of the fourth Force of Nature. Hopefully we can get to see her battle prowess in Paldea.
Zebstrika |
Elesa's signature Pokemon Zebstrika has not been around since Pokemon X and Y. It has been nearly a decade since this Pokemon was given the attention it deserves so we think it is time to reintroduce the Thunderbolt Pokemon to the newer generation of Pokemon fans.
Ditto |
Ditto has always been a fan favorite. It is very adorable and it can copy any Pokemon it sees. Give it a Choice Scarf and it can revenge kill anything.
Furfrou |
Grooming Furfrou was so much fun in previous games so we think it is about time we give this nice poodle the same treatment in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The game recently announced that it has plenty of character customization options for its players so we thought having a Pokemon to play dress up with would be great.
Nothing like expressing yourself through fashion with your very own Pokemon!
Character Customization and All Appearance Options
Charizard |
Charizard has always been a fan favorite for a lot of good reasons but we think it has had enough time in the spotlight. Other starters need love too!
Landorus |
Landorus, one of the Forces of Nature, is thriving in the competitive scene. Its Intimidate, exceptionally high Attack stat, and great typing make it a force to be reckoned with.
While we think it is great to have a strong Pokemon in your arsenal for competitive battling, we still think it is time that we give him a break since it has been around for far too long now.
Thundurus |
The second of the Forces of Nature, Thundurus is a strong Special Attacker that can sweep an entire team easily. However, just like Landorus, this Pokemon has been around for so long now that it needs to go as well.
Tornadus |
Just like the two other Forces of Nature, Tornadus has had its fun in previous games already. Fans surely had a great time catching it in Legends: Arceus and using it in the competitive scene but it would be nice to have different legendary Pokemon in the upcoming game.
Incineroar |
Incineroar has quite a reputation in the competitive scene. Its Intimidate, natural bulk, good resistances, and high Attack stat makes it a threat in most battles. Who knows how much threatening it would be when it Terastalizes?
Shedinja |
Shedinja's Wonder Guard ability has always made it an interesting Pokemon. This Pokemon can only be damaged with super effective attacks. However, with the new Terastalization mechanic in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it could make Shedinja almost invincible.
Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Zacian (Crowned) |
Just like Incineroar and the Forces of Nature, Zacian is thriving in the competitive scene. It arguably has one of the best type combinations in the game. Its already absurdly high Attack stat is boosted even further with its ability Intrepid Sword.
It is over-powered so we think it should not return in the upcoming games.
Klinklang |
The only reason we think Klinklang should not return is because we already have a Magnezone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The latter is arguably better than Klinklang because of its high Special Attack stat and higher overall base stats.
Bruxish |
Although Bruxish is fast, its overall stats are not very impressive. Its design is not enticing either. There are plenty of Water and Psychic-type Pokemon that you can use in your team that are much stronger than Bruxish.
Smeargle |
The utility Smeargle offers is unparalleled. With Sketch, it can copy any move a Pokemon can learn. It has been very useful in breeding in the past, however we are unsure if Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will even have breeding at all.
Aside from coming up with which Pokemon should and should not return, we have also compiled 10 Pokemon that we think have bad designs.
Our list includes Bruxish, Dracozolt, and Arctozolt. Let us know what you think about this video in the comments section below!
