The best ability for Espathra is Opportunist. This allows the Pokemon to copy the stat boosts of the opponent.
We also recommend getting a Psychic Tera Type Espathra as it only has two weaknesses. As a special attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's Special Attack and HP. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Equip the Pokemon with Wise Glasses to boost the power of its special moves.
Use Lumina Crash to damage the raid Pokemon and lower its Special Defense by two stages. Use Shadow Ball as an alternative attack if the raid Pokemon is weak to Ghost-type moves.

Shell Bell |
This build uses a Shell Bell held item, as opposed to the regular Wise Glasses option on the Lumina Crash Build.
Opportunist allows Espathra to benefit from opposing Pokemon's stat boosts, and when used together with Stored Power, you can deal large amounts of damage against raid bosses, giving you a better chance at solo-ing certain raid bosses!
We also recommend getting an Espathra with a Psychic Tera Type to boost the power of its Psychic-type STAB. Since it's a Special Attacker, a Modest nature is best to boost its offense.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your Def EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into HP, Sp. Atk, and Speed.
Turn-by-Turn Raid Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Feather Dance to lower the raid boss' Attack |
Turns 2~4 | Use Lumina Crash to deal STAB super-effective damage, while also reducing the raid boss' Special Defense. |
Turn 5 | Use Calm Mind to Gain +1 Sp. Atk and Sp. Def |
Turns 6+ | Terastallize into a Psychic-type and use multi-stat boosted + Tera STAB boosted Stored Power. |
At the start of the battle, use Feather Dance to reduce the raid boss' Attack stat.
When using Lumina Crash, try to use it repeatedly to heal with Shell Bell
From the copied stat boosts from Opportunist, and the boost from Calm Mind, you can deal heavy damage with Stored Power, and even more so when you are Terastallized!
How to Make Best Espathra Tera Raid Build |

|
The easiest way to obtain an Espathra is to catch a Psychic Tera Type Flittle and evolve it. You can find the Pokemon in the mountain and desert biomes at Asado Desert and most areas in the South Province.
Make sure to bring a Pokemon that has False Swipe and can inflict a status effect to make it easier to catch.
If it has a different nature, you can use a Modest Mint to change its nature.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
If its ability is different from our recommendation, you can use an Ability Capsule to change it.
This item can be bought at Chansey Supply shops for ₽100,000.

Alternatively, you can use Power Items that you can buy at a Delibird Presents shop for ₽10,000 each. Have your Pokemon hold the respective Power Item while defeating the Pokemon listed below.

Next, level it up to 100 to maximize its stats. The easiest way to do this is by farming Exp candies from Tera Raid Battles.

That isn't true, for one, it is guaranteed to out speed cinderace with 275 Spe, for two, you aren't using this espathra build right, you use feather dance first turn, then you use lumina crash 3 times, you use calm mind, the terastallize into psychic type and nuke with stored power. Spam lumina crash after that and it's done even if espathra is KOed, it outspeeds. Maybe you haven't EV trained it right, or your doing something wrong. It's worked 10/10 times for me and no problems.

Slowbro is useless imo, 9 out of 10 times you get nulified before you can get the 6 moves of Iron defense and nasty plot done. After being nulified youre weak and have no good attack move.
