Terastallizing into Fairy can protect Dudunsparce from opposing Pokemon who may want to Dragon Tail away its boosts.

Position it Against Low-Offense Pokemon

Because Dudunsparce has hefty defenses, putting it up against opponents who do not pressure it offensively can allow it to comfortably set up its Substitutes and boosts.

How to Build a Team with Dudunsparce

Having a Memento user at the front of the team can help Dudunsparce come in safely where it can set up and Baton Pass. Teammates like Zoroark, Glimmora or Pincurchin all have access to Memento, making them good teammates for Dudunsparce.

Force Dudunsparce to Switch Out

You can force Dudunsparce and its allies out of the active position with Whirlwind or Roar.
Dragon Tail may also work, but it will not force Dudunsparce to switch if it is behind a Substitute, whereas Whirlwind and Roar will still work.

Forcing a Pokemon out of the active spot will also remove their buffs, making the entire Memento and Baton Pass strategy fall apart.
