Alolan Ninetales is the centerpiece of this Regulation E snow team, but it also features the Fire-type Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon. This team takes advantage of the Snow that Alolan Ninetales sets up, but it can also function well outside of Snow with the hyper offensive Pokemon in this team.

Aurora Veil
・ Blizzard ・ Moonblast ・ Baton Pass |
The main role of Alolan Ninetales in this team is to set up an Aurora Veil while the Snow weather condition is on the field. With the Light Clay item, the Aurora Veil should be able to reduce both Physical and Special damage taken by the team for eight turns.

Tera Type | |
Held Item | Loaded Dice |
Moveset | ・
Dragon Dance
・ Scale Shot ・ Icicle Spear ・ Ice Shard |
Baxcalibur gets a Defense boost from the Snow that Alolan Ninetales sets. With its natural bulk and the Aurora Veil support, Baxcalibur becomes a very difficult Pokemon to knock out.
This Baxcalibur build makes use of the multi-hit moves Scale Shot and Icicle Spear, so it is equipped with the Loaded Dice item to help these moves be more reliable.
Baxcalibur Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Jolly (+Spe, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 252 Atk / 4 Sp. Def / 252 Spe |

Tera Type | |
Held Item | Hearthflame Mask |
Moveset | ・
Ivy Cudgel
・ Horn Leech ・ U-turn ・ Knock Off |
Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon is one of the strongest Pokemon introduced in the Teal Mask DLC. With it's amazing offensive coverage, combined by the Attack boost it gets from Terastallizing, it is difficult to wall this Pokemon.
Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon (Fire) Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Timid (+Spe, -Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Sp. Def / 252 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 130 HP / 75 Def / 187 Sp. Atk / 156 Sp. Def / 205 Spe |
Ability | Protosynthesis |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Booster Energy |
Moveset | ・
Calm Mind
・ Moonblast ・ Shadow Ball ・ Mystical Fire |
This is a fast Flutter Mane build that gains a Speed boost from its Booster Energy and Protosynthesis Ability. It can also strengthen its Special Attack and Special Defense stats by using Calm Mind, making it exceptionally bulky on the Special side when Aurora Veil is up.
Flutter Mane has several good offensive moves in Moonblast and Shadow Ball. It also has access to Mystical Fire, which lowers the opponent's Special Attack stat. This can allow Flutter Mane to completely wall Special Attackers.
Flutter Mane Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Adamant (+Atk, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | HP 108 / Atk 132 / Def 172 / Sp. Def 52 / Spe 44 |
Final Stat Values | HP 189 / Atk 183 / Def 142 / Sp. Def 87 / Spe 123 |
Ability | Unseen Fist |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Punching Glove |
Moveset | ・
Surging Strikes
・ Aqua Jet ・ Close Combat ・ U-turn |
Urshifu's Punching Glove item prevents it from taking chip damage from Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin. However, take note that this also negates its Unseen Fist Ability.
This Urshifu has the Poison Tera type to help it resist Fairy and Grass attacks that would normally counter it. Once Terastallized, it also is able to switch into Poison-type attacks that can threaten your Alolan Ninetales, Ogerpon, and Flutter Mane.
Urshifu Rapid-Strike Style Movesets and Best Builds
Nature | Adamant (+Atk, -Sp. Atk) |
---|---|
EV Spread | 68 HP / 196 Atk / 4 Def / 4 Sp. Def / 236 Spe |
Final Stat Values | 173 HP / 209 Atk / 111 Def / 101 Sp. Def / 141 Spe |
Ability | Intimidate |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Choice Scarf |
Moveset | ・
U-turn
・ Earthquake ・ Stone Edge ・ Tera Blast |
Choice Scarf Landorus serves as a counter to all of Ogerpon's forms. Its Intimidate ability lowers the opponent's Attack stat by one stage, and the Choice Scarf allows it to outspeed Ogerpon.
A Flying-type Tera Blast can knock out most Ogerpon forms and other Pokemon weak to the move. Earthquake is a reliable STAB move if you don't want to commit your Tera to Landorus.
Landorus Movesets and Best Builds
Snow Core | |
---|---|
Alolan Ninetales |
Baxcalibur |
For most battles, you will want to lead with Alolan Ninetales to set up the Snow and an Aurora Veil. This should allow your team to comfortably take hits.
Baxcalibur is the ideal Pokemon to bring with Ninetales in order to take advantage of the Defense boost Ice Types receive in Snow.
The third Pokemon you bring will depend on your opponent's team. Although, if you're having a hard time choosing the last Pokemon, Urshifu and Ogerpon are both good picks to round out this team of three.
Hyper Offense Core | ||
---|---|---|
Flutter Mane |
Landorus (Therian Forme) |
Ogerpon (Hearthflame Mask) |
If it doesn't look like you'll be able to set up an Aurora Veil or take advantage of Snow in any way, then you can bring your hyper offensive Pokemon to deal with your opponent.
Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon can do a lot of damage even to Pokemon that resist its attacks. Landorus is a good counter to opposing Pokemon and can help with the team's defenses by reducing the Attack stat of the opponent. Flutter Mane can deal a lot of Special damage to the opponent and switch into most Special Attacks.
Other Weather Setters | |||
---|---|---|---|
Torkoal
Ability: Drought |
Pelipper
Ability: Drizzle |
Tyranitar
Ability: Sand Stream |
Politoed
Ability: Drizzle |
If your opponent has one of these weather setters in their team, it may not be such a good idea to lead with Alolan Ninetales. The opponent can easily remove your Snow, which will prevent you from setting up an Aurora Veil.
However, if these weather conditions seem to be a big part of your opponent's strategy, you can bring Alolan Ninetales in the back to disrupt their weather and give you the upper hand.
