At each of Paldea's eight Pokemon Gyms, you must pass a Gym Test to see if you are worthy enough to battle the Gym Leader.
These tests range from Battles, to rhythm games to a city scale Sunflora hunt!
Much like Pokemon Sun and Moon's Island Trials, Gym Tests in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are unique to each Gym, showcasing both the culture of the town and the personality of its Gym Leader.
In Artazon, the Gym Leader Brassius is known as the "Verdant Virtuoso", and the town itself is known for both its flowers and art. That is why Brassius' Gym Test involves looking for Sunflora across town to help judge a trainer's aesthetic sensibilities.
Once you've completed a Gym Test, you'll be allowed to battle the local Gym Leader. Defeat them, and you'll gain a badge. Get eight badges, and you'll be given a chance to pass the Champion Assessment at Pokemon League Headquarters to earn the Champion Rank.
