Some Pokemon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) are effective Weather Setters with their Abilities while some can benefit off Weather with their Abilities. Read on to learn more about these Pokemon and what their Abilities and their effects!

Pelipper | Drizzle | The user changes the weather to Rain for five turns. |
Politoed | Drizzle | The user changes the weather to Rain for five turns. |
Kyogre | Drizzle | The user changes the weather to Rain for five turns. |
Alolan Ninetales | Snow Warning | The user creates a Snowstorm that lasts for 5 turns after being sent out in battle. |
Abomasnow | Snow Warning | The user creates a Snowstorm that lasts for 5 turns after being sent out in battle. |
Tyranitar | Sand Stream | The user creates a Sandstorm that lasts for 5 turns when it enters the battlefield. |

Some Pokemon are able to set Weather simply by entering the field. These are Pokemon with Abilities like Drought which sets up Sun when it enters the field. Different Weather have their own distinct effects, each different from each other, such as increasing and decreasing the power of attacks or increasing certain Pokemon's defenses.
Weather Effects and How to Change Weather

Chilly Reception | The user switches out with another Pokemon in the party and summons a snowstorm that lasts for five turns. | |
Rain Dance | Activates Rain for five turns. | |
Sandstorm | Activates a sandstorm for five turns. | |
Snowscape | Activates a snowstorm for five turns and boosts Defense of Ice types while active. | |
Sunny Day | Activates Sunshine for 5 turns. |
Pokemon are also able to manually set weather using Moves such as Sunny Day. These come with the advantage of going after a Pokemon switches in and out, so if a Pokemon that sets Weather switches in, a Weather setting move will occur after it.
Prankster Pokemon such as Grimmsnarl and Tornadus (Incarnate Forme) are excellent users of these Moves.
