Azumarill
|
・ Play Rough ・ Belly Drum ・ Liquidation ・ Ice Spinner ・Use Belly Drum to raise Azumarill's Attack by 6 stages. ・Damage moves allow Azumarill to hit most types for at least neutral. ▶︎ Best Azumarill Build for Tera Raids |
Azumarill is a great Physical Attacker against Dragonite, being able to resist its Water-type moves, and be completely immune from its Dragon-type STAB moves.

Umbreon

・
Helping Hand
・ Foul Play ・ Reflect ・ Screech ・Use Screech to reduce raid Pokemon's Defense. ・Set up Reflect and Helping Hand to aid allies. ・Use Thunder Wave to Paralyze the raid Pokemon. ▶︎ Best Umbreon Build for Tera Raids |
Umbreon is a great utility Pokemon, being able to support its teammates with its moves. Screech and Helping Hand both increase your team's damage output, while Reflect and Thunder Wave help your team defensively.

Play Rough
OR Liquidation |
Helping Hand | Helping Hand | Helping Hand |
The above steps work for both the 5 and 6-Star Dragonite Tera Raids.
At the start of the raid, Iron Hands players should boost their Attack with Belly Drum. The Umbreon users should use Screech to lower Dragonite's Defense stat.
On turn 2, all 3 Ceruledge should use Helping Hand to drastically power up Iron Hands. Iron Hands then uses Liquidation or Play Rough (whichever does at least neutral damage) to one-shot and defeat Dragonite.
If the raid Dragonite has Multiscale as its ability, it might require more than one hit to defeat it even with the stat changes.
| Liquidation (+6 Atk | 3x Helping Hands) Neutral Damage 8,373 ~ 9,855 (103.70%~122.04%) |
|
| Play Rough (+6 Atk | 3x Helping Hands) Neutral Damage 8,870 ~ 10,439 (109.84%~129.27%) |
|
The above damage calculations are for the 6-Star Level 90 Dragonite with 25x HP and 128 EVs in Def and Sp. Def.

Bulk Up
・ Screech ・ Rage Fist ・ Drain Punch ・Set up Bulk Up to boost offense and defense. ・Use Screech to lower the raid Pokemon's defense. ・After three Bulk Ups and three Screeches, Rage Fist should be at its highest base power. ▶︎ Best Annihilape Build for Tera Raids |
You can use Annihilape in offline raids if you want to take on this raid solo with NPCs or if you don't have an existing Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
| How to Beat Dragonite | |
|---|---|
| Turns | 6-Star Counter |
| #1~3 | Bulk Up |
| #4~6 | Screech |
| #7~9 | Rage Fist |
| #10+ | Terastallize, then use Rage Fist |
The above steps work for 6-Star Dragonite Tera Raids.
At the start of the raid, use Bulk Up 3 times to increase Annihilape's Attack and Defense stats. Follow up with Screech 3 times to reduce Dragonite's Defense by 6 stages. At this point, Rage Fist should be at around 300 Base Power, allowing you to defeat the raid Dragonite in 2~3 attacks. You can also opt to use Drain Punch to recover some HP before attacking with Rage Fist.
When you can, Terastallize Annihilape and use Rage Fist to deal maximum damage.
Using this strategy, we approximate it will take 9~10 turns to solo 6-Star Dragonite.
Annihilape works best against 6-Star Dragonite raids due to its lack of Flying-type attacks. For 5-Star Dragonite Raids, use either Flutter Mane or Azumarill for best results.
| Rage Fist (+3 Atk, 350 Base Power) 5,284 ~ 6,217 (65.44%~76.99%) |
|
The above damage calculations are for the 6-Star Level 90 Dragonite with 25x HP and 128 EVs in Def and Sp. Def.

Flutter Mane
|
・
Fake Tears
・ Moonblast ・ Shadow Ball ・ Thunder ・Reduce Dragonite's Sp. Def stat with Fake Tears. ・Attack moves can hit Dragonite for at least neutral regardless of Tera type. ▶︎ Best Flutter Mane Build for Tera Raids |
You can also use Flutter Mane in offline raids, which can stand on its own against raid Pokemon.
| How to Beat Dragonite | |
|---|---|
| Turns | Special Attacker |
| #1~3 | Fake Tears |
| #4~6 | Moonblast or Shadow Ball |
| #7+ | Terastallize, then Moonblast or Shadow Ball |
The above steps work for both the 5 and 6-Star Dragonite Tera Raids.
At the start of the raid, use Fake Tears to reduce Dragonite's Sp. Def stat. This will allow Flutter Mane to deal good damage, even without stat boosts aside from Protosynthesis.
Once you have charged your Tera Orb, you can Terastallize Flutter Mane and use Moonblast if its Tera Type is Fairy, or Shadow Ball for a Ghost Tera Type.
Since Dragonite can also use Rain Dance, you can also use Thunder with its 100 accuracy in rain, depending on Dragonite's Tera Type.
Using this strategy we approximate it will take 11~12 turns to defeat 6-Star Dragonite solo.
| Moonblast (Protosynthesis Active) Neutral Damage 894 ~ 1053 (12.29%~14.47%) |
|
| Shadow Ball (+6 Atk, Quark Drive Active) Neutral Damage 754 ~ 888 (10.36%~12.21%) |
|
The above damage calculations are for the 6-Star Level 90 Dragonite with 25x HP and 128 EVs in Def and Sp. Def.

Belly Drum
・ Liquidation ・ Play Rough ・ Ice Spinner ・Boost Attack stat with Belly Drum. ・Use Liquidation or Play Rough to deal damage. ▶︎ Best Azumarill Build for Tera Raids |
You can also use Iron Hands in offline raids, which can stand on its own against raid Pokemon.
| How to Beat Dragonite | |
|---|---|
| Turns | Physical Attacker |
| #1 | Belly Drum |
| #2~4 | Liquidation or Play Rough |
| #5+ | Terastallize, then Liquidation or Play Rough |
The above steps work for both the 5 and 6-Star Dragonite Tera Raids.
At the start of the raid, use Belly Drum to boost Azumarril's Attack stat. This will cut down its HP to half, which you can recover by consuming your Sitrus Berry.
Once you have charged your Tera Orb, you can Terastallize Azumarill and use Liquidation if its Tera Type is Water, or Play Rough for a Fairy Tera Type.
Using this strategy we approximate it will take 5-6 turns to defeat 6-Star Dragonite solo.
| Liquidation (+6 Atk) Neutral Damage 685 ~ 807 (9.42%~11.09%) |
|
| Play Rough (+6 Atk) Neutral Damage 726 ~ 855 (9.98%~11.75%) |
|
The above damage calculations are for the 6-Star Level 90 Dragonite with 25x HP and 128 EVs in Def and Sp. Def.

Can we get a 6 star tera raid annhilape guide? It's pretty much harder than Dragonite because he does focus energy and bulk up and once his health gets low he uses rage fist. Every pokemon I bring just falls to him easily.
