Summary

Honchkrow's STAB damage output, combined with status buffing moves, and ability to use the Raid Boss' own Attack Stat against it is makes it a potent Solo Tera Raid Pokemon.

Best Ability

The best ability for Honchkrow in Tera Raid Battles is Super Luck. This Ability increases the chance of landing a critical hit by 1 stage.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Honchkrow with a Dark Tera Type because this will boost the power of its Foul Play. As Honchkrow will not be using its own Attack stat in damage calculations, a Careful nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a mix of bulk and offense. In Honchkrow's case it will use the opponent's Attack stat in damage calculations, so it can afford to invest 100% in bulk. Max out your HP and Special Defense EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Speed. Give it Leftovers to recover HP each turn.

Tera Raid Strategy

Honchkrow Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turns 1~3 Use Swagger three times to confuse the Raid Boss and raise its Attack to +6.
Optional Use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using setup moves.
Turns 4~9 Alternate between Foul Play and Screech, dealing damage and reducing the Raid Boss' Defense.
Turns 10+ Terastallize and repeatedly use Foul Play to KO the Raid Boss.

Start the battle by using Swagger thrice to confuse the Raid Boss and maximize its Attack so that Foul Play and confusion damage will always deal plenty of damage.

Use Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using a set up move such as Nasty Plot.

On turn 4 onwards, alternate between Foul Play and Screech, dealing damage and reducing the Raid Boss' Defense.

From here, use Foul Play repeatedly, and terastallize once you have enough Tera Orb charge to deal even more damage.

Summary

Honchkrow's Dark and Flying dual-typing allows it to take resisted damage from Ghost-type STAB moves. On top of this, Honchkrow can halve the incoming damage of the occasional Fire-type move with Rain Dance.

Honchkrow's high STAB super-effective damage output, combined with status buffing moves, great typing and ability to use the opponent's own Attack Stat against it is sure to make it the perfect solo counter against Ghost and Dark-types.

We also recommend getting a Honchkrow with a Dark Tera Type because this will boost the power of its Foul Play. Turns 10+ Terastallize when possible, and use Foul Play to deal double STAB boosted super-effective damage using the opponent's boosted Attack stat and clear the raid.

This Honchkrow Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Psychic and Ghost Type Tera Raids.

As Honchkrow uses the opponents stats in calculating damage rather than boosting its own stats, it can afford to be knocked out multiple times during the battle, meaning it is even effective against Raid Bosses with Super-Effective moves against it, provided Honchkrow is able to deal Super-Effective damage itself with Foul Play.
