A Timid nature is preferred to help increase Empoleon's relatively low-Speed stat.

Other Viable Moves

Surf A lower damage Water-type attack that is 100% accurate.
Weather Ball When used in the Rain, it becomes a fully accurate 100BP Water-type attack. This becomes Empoleon's best Water STAB when used with a Rain team.
