How to Change a Pokemon's Nature

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Changing Nature of Pokemon
When you are unsatisfied with the Nature of a Pokemon after catching it, there are 3 methods of getting another nature for that Pokemon!

Use Mints

Returning from Pokemon Sword and Shield, Mints are a rare item type that can change a Pokemon's nature. Strictly speaking, this is the only way to truly change an existing Pokemon's nature, as the other methods deal with determining the nature of a Pokemon before it is obtained.

Mints tend to be costly but with the accessibility of Mints in shops, using Mints is the easiest way to change natures.

You can buy Mints at Chansey Supply in Mesagoza. All Mint costs ₽20,000. Alternatively, you can join the Academy Ace Tournament to get various rewards, and Mints are included in the reward pool. You can also obtain Mints from 5-star and 6-star Tera Raids.

Reroll the Encounter

To do this, simply save your game before an encounter. Then, proceed with the battle and catch the Pokemon. Check the Pokemon's nature and if the Nature is not to your liking, simply restart your game to the point before the encounter then battle it again.

When you battle and catch the Pokemon again, it should have a different Nature. Keep on dong this until you get the Nature you are satisfied with!

Sychronize Ability No Longer Works In Gen 9

Using the Synchronize Ability to affect the nature of your encounters no longer works in Gen 9, and it isn't worth using a Synchronize Lead Pokemon for the Reroll method.

Breed With Ditto Holding an Everstone

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Ditto Change Nature

If a Pokemon you've caught is particularly rare/has a low encounter rate in the wild, it'd most likely be faster to breed it with a Ditto to pass on the preferred nature to its child. Ditto can breed with any Pokemon and any gender, with the exception of Pokemon in the Undiscovered Egg Group.

Obtain a Ditto with the nature you want the offspring to inherit. Make the Ditto hold an Everstone then breed it with a Pokemon of the same species you want. When a Pokemon holds an Everstone while breeding, the Pokemon is guaranteed to pass on its Nature to its offspring.
