Getting 200 unique Pokemon in The Indigo Disk DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) requires a stock of Quick Balls and a catch-oriented Pokemon. Read on to learn how to catch Pokemon fast, what the best Pokemon for catching is, and what catching 200 unique Pokemon unlocks!
Use Pokeballs that efficiently increase the likelihood of catching Wild Pokemon. For example, it is not wise to use a Nest Ball since all the Pokemon in the Terarium are 50+ Levels! It is highly recommended to use these Pokeballs to lessen the time spent!
Pokeball | Explanation |
---|---|
Quick Ball | Easier to catch Pokemon earlier in the encounter Conditions: • Should be used within the first turn for 5x capture rate, otherwise, the capture rate is 1x |
Dusk Ball | Easier to catch Pokemon during nighttime or in a dark environment. Conditions: • If the wild Pokemon is found in a Cave or during nighttime, the capture rate becomes 3x, if not the capture rate is 1x. |
Ultra Ball | Commonly found in the overworld, easier to catch Pokemon with, and is an overall upgrade for the Great Ball. Conditions: • The capture rate becomes 2x. |
Best Pokeballs to Use and How to Catch Pokemon Easily
Having a Pokemon catered for catching Wild Pokemon will significantly decrease the amount of time you need to spend catching 200 Pokemon. The criteria for a strong catch-oriented Pokemon is for them to have a False Swipe and a Status Move such as Spore.
Train one of these recommended Pokemon to help you catch 200 Pokemon fast!
Pokemon | Pros & Cons |
---|---|
Smeargle | Pros:: ・Found in every biome in the Terarium ・Can access almost all of the moves, including False Swipe, Spore, and Mean Look ・Has access to Technician, which increases the power of False Swipe by 1.5x Cons: ・Stats can be lackluster ・Considered a rare spawn |
Hisuian Decidueye | Pros:: ・Is able to use False Swipe against Ghost-Types thanks to Scrappy ・Can use Taunt to prevent the use of self-KO moves like Memento. ・Has recovery options with Synthesis or Roost Cons: ・Requires you to trade from Pokemon: Legends of Arceus ・Does not have a debilitating status move |
Going to the School Cafeteria and getting the Academy Special will increase your Catching Power towards all types by 2 levels. Essentially, the Academy Special Meal will increase the odds of capturing all Pokemon! Use this for low catch-rate Pokemon such as Beldum!
All New Meals in The Indigo Disk DLC
If you need a particular Pokemon with a specific typing, it would be wise to make a sandwich that increases both your Encounter and Catching Power towards that specific type. This decreases time spent by limiting wild spawns to only Pokemon you need!
While you are out and about catching Pokemon, do not forget to do your Blueberry Quests! Since the Starters and their evolution line make up most of the Pokedex, it would be wise to do these quests passively to unlock the Starters!
Keep an eye out for the Blueberry Quests that require you to catch a Pokemon of the specific type and hint. These kinds of quests lets you hit two Pikipeks with one Geodude!
Getting 200 Unique Pokemon from the Blueberry Pokedex unlocks a sidequest given to you by Perrin. The quest involves you encountering the new Paradox Pokemon!
You will be able to encounter Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire in Pokemon Scarlet. For Pokemon Violet, you can encounter Iron Crown and Iron Boulder.
