First Impression
・ U-turn ・ Sucker Punch ・ Taunt |
Lokix is a powerful physical attacker and one of the few that doesn't need any coverage moves thanks to its Tinted Lens Ability doubling the damage of not very effective moves. This means that when using a Bug-type move like First Impression on a Steel-type Pokemon, it deals normal damage despite the target resisting it.
U-Turn is its secondary Bug-type move that allows Lokix to pivot to another teammate, while Sucker Punch is a strong Dark-type STAB that allows it to hit faster opponents such as Dragapult.
Taunt is its last move and is useful for shutting down lead support and defensive Pokemon such as Iron Treads and Hippowdon and preventing them from using Stealth Rock or phazing moves like Yawn and Whirlwind.
This build has Bug Tera type to remove Lokix's weakness to Fairy-types, while also boosting the power of its Bug-type STAB.
Axe Kick | Axe Kick is a very strong Fighting-type coverage move, but damages Lokix if it misses. It's a great alternative to Taunt so that it can hit Rock and Steel-types harder. |
---|---|
Throat Chop | Can replace Sucker Punch as its main Dark-type STAB and also prevents the target from using sound-based moves, such as preventing Skeledirge from using Torch Song. |
Lokix's First Impression is a strong priority move that it can only use during the start of the turn its sent out.
Coupled with Life Orb, the boost from terastallizing, and Tinted Lens boosting its resisted attacks, Lokix can deal a lot of damage even to resistant Pokemon such as minimum Defense Dragapult which is OHKO'd by the move.
The following calculations are with full Attack investment with Life Orb and Bug Tera-type boost.
Damage Dealt by Lokix |
|
---|---|
First Impression 156 ~ 187 (95.7 ~ 114.7%) 75% chance to OHKO |
|
First Impression 182 ~ 218 (76.7 ~ 91.9%) Guaranteed 2HKO |
|
First Impression 147 ~ 177 (108.8 ~ 131.1%) Guaranteed OHKO |
Loxik is a great option for lead attacker in any team composition, but works very well in hyper offense teams that appreciate its unresisted STAB moves.
Lead Attacker | Offensive Pivot | Setup Sweepepr |
---|---|---|
Lokix | Gholdengo | Azumarill |
Loxik leads this team and its main role is to deal as much damage as possible with First Impression and Sucker Punch. When a physical wall such as Garganacl switches in, pivot with U-Turn to swap with Gholdengo who can use Garganacl as setup fodder.
Azumarill is this team's secondary physical attacker and is another great choice to pivot to when facing Dragon-types like Dragonite and Salamence.
Although Tinted Lens gives Lokix great offensive presence, it still struggles against Pokemon that have 4x resistance. Tinted Lens lowers this resistance to 2x resistance, which is still enough for these Pokemon to wall Loxik and force it out.
