Which Version Has Better Exclusives?

Pokemon Violet may Have a Slight (Cerul)Edge

Koraidon and Miraidon Version Exclusive Legendary Ride Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)
While the answer to this question depends on personal preference and how the individual player approaches a play-through, from a purely competitive standpoint some signs are pointing to Pokemon Violet's superiority over Pokemon Scarlet. First, in the head-to-head matchup, Ceruledge's secondary Ghost Typing trumps Armarouge's Psychic.

Salamence and Tyranitar are Both Great

Next, although Tyranitar does see more competitive play than Salamence overall, with the addition of Tera Types giving Salamence the ability to remove its 4x weakness to Ice and 2x Fairy weakness, as well as a highly useful ability in Intimidate, Salamence is poised to have renewed VGC success. It is still too early to say just how successful it will be, however, it is likely to at least achieve relatively similar success to Tyranitar (who is also poised for increased performance thanks to the Terastal phenomenon).

Legendary Pokemon Typings, Stats, Move Pools and Abilities May Determine the Winner

It may ultimately come down to which Legendary Pokemon is better. Koraidon is a Dragon Fighting Type, while Miraidon is a Dragon Electric Type. A Dragon Fighting Typing would be quite detrimental to Koraidon as that would leave it with a 4x weakness to Fairy Type. If one of the Legendary Pokemon has a better Typing, stat spread, move pool, or ability, that may ultimately determine which game has the better version exclusives.

How to Get Version Exclusive Pokemon Without Trading

Fight in Online Tera Raids

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - Ceruledge Tera Raid

If you want to encounter a version exclusive Pokemon without trading or buying another version of the game, you can encounter them in online Tera Raids.

For example, if a player who has Pokemon Scarlet hosts a raid battle and a player who has Pokemon Violet connects to it, then the Pokemon Violet player will have a chance to catch a version-exclusive Tera Pokemon. This also goes the other way around.

So join as many Tera Raid battles as you can, and you might get your hands on version-exclusive Tera Pokemon.

Join Union Circle with a Player from the Opposite Version

When you join another players world in Union Circle, you will be able to encounter all of the Pokemon that they spawn as well. If you have a friend that has the version with the exclusives you are looking for you should get them to invite you to the Union Circle and stick close to them when you arrive in their world.

Indigo Disk Exclusives Only: Do Group Quests BBQs in Union Circle to Get Opposite Version Legendary Exclusives

If you are completing group quest BBQs in the Union Circle for the Indigo Disk DLC, you can get the opposite version Legendary exclusives even if you are not playing with a player of the opposite version. This is one way to obtain them apart from trading with another player with the opposite version of the game.

Actually, you should specify that some of the version exclusives can be obtained through raids. I am playing Scarlet and was able to get a Gulpin in a 4 star raid
