Pokemon SV - How to Wash Pokemon

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV), players can wash their Pokemon while in a picnic so they can restore a Pokemon's health and become closer to them. Read more to learn how to wash your Pokemon, as well as its effects.

Set Up a Picnic First to Wash Your Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Set Up Picnic

You can unlock the wash your Pokemon feature by setting up a picnic by pressing the X button and then choosing Picnic.

Note that you cannot set up a picnic on towns or inclined areas where you might slide off. You need to set a picnic at a spacious area to use this feature.

Get Close to Your Pokemon and Press the X Button

Get closer to the Pokemon that you want to wash and then press the X button to wash your Pokemon.

Use the Left Stick While Holding A to Wash Your Pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Wash Pokemon

Wash your Pokemon by holding A and using the left stick to wash your Pokemon. Afterwards, you will be given a prompt to shower your Pokemon, so do that and use the same controls again until you finish washing your Pokemon.

Blueberry Quests, or BBQs, are special tasks that rewards BP when completed and are used to claim various rewards in the Blueberry Academy.

Increases Your Friendship

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet SV - Increase Friendship

Washing your Pokemon has multiple benefits like increasing your friendship with that Pokemon.

How to Increase Friendship

Restores Pokemon's HP

Another useful benefit of washing your Pokemon is its ability to restore the Pokemon's HP when they are injured. This is useful especially if your Pokemon got hurt from normal battles or auto-battles.

Gives Experience Points

Washing also gives the Pokemon some EXP after being washed by the trainer. The EXP it gives is not that huge compared to battling but it is still a nice bonus to have.
