Easily maximize Latios' Sp. Atk by using Light Screen and Recover while stacking the buff from Calm Mind. Progressively deal more damage while Luster Purge decreases the Boss' Sp. Def. Use Recover to prevent Latios from fainting and lose all the buffs from Calm Mind |
Latios can only have Levitate as its ability. Levitate makes Latios immune to Ground-type moves making it as a great choice for any Fighting or Poison Tera Raid Bosses that heavily use Ground-Type moves.
Light Screen and Recover are used to help Latious set up and keep the Calm Mind buff while Luster Purge will be the the main damage and debuff source.
The Best Tera Type for Latios is the Psychic Tera Type. This increases the damage it can deal against Psychic Weak raid bosses.
As a special attacker, a Modest nature would be best for Latios. If your Latios happens to have a different nature, you can use a Modest Mint to change its nature to Modest.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Latios Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Light Screen to protect Latios and your teammates from Special Moves as you set up the Calm Mind buffs. |
Turns 2-8 | Maximize Latios' Sp. Atk by using Calm Mind for 6 turns. Use Recover as necessary to prevent Latios from fainting. |
Turns 9+ | Start attacking with Luster Purge and terastallize when you fill the Tera Orb. Use Recover when needed. |
Start the raid battle by using Light Screen to protect Latios and your team from Special Moves as you prepare to boost your Sp. Atk with Calm Mind.
Make sure to maximize Latios' Sp. Atk with Calm Mind as Luster Purge only has a maximum of eight uses. Use recover during these earlier turns to prevent Latios from fainting and lose all the Sp. Atk buffs
Once Latio's Sp. Atk is maximized, use Luster Purge to charge the Tera Orb then terastrallize once its full. The Shell Bell should help with keeping Latios alive while you bring the Raid Boss down.

This Latios Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Fighting and Poison Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Bug, Ghost, or Dark Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Latios will be weak to these Types as a Psychic Type attacker.

Once you complete 10 Solo Blueberry Quests and get a Latios Treat from Snacksworth, Latios will show up at the lone lake with the overgrown tree beside the desert near the Lurking Steel Titan in North Province (Area Two).
If it has a different nature, you can use a Modest Mint to change its nature to Modest.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
EV train Latios according to the build's EV spread using Vitamins, Mochis, or the traditional way with Power Items and battling Pokemon with the right EV yield.
