Briar, the supervisor of your trip to Kitakami, is a new character that will be introduced in Part 1 of the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, The Teal Mask, of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Learn more about Briar and what her name means.

Briar is a new character that will be introduced in Part 1 of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero - The Teal Mask. She is the Supervisor in charge of leading Naranja/Uva Academy's school trip to Kitakami. It is said that she is very curious and is very interested in the Terastal Phenomenon.
Ms. Briar is a teacher at Blueberry Academy and is in charge of the school trip you’ll be embarking on. As shown in the new trailer, you will meet Briar in Naranja/Uva Academy to help guide you to Kitakami.
Unlike Pokemon Sword and Shield, Briar will be the one to take you to Kitakami, unlike the Armor Pass which just randomly appears in your bag after purchasing the DLC.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC: Release Date and Everything We Know
The name Briar is derived from the same word used as a common name for a number of unrelated thorny plants that form thickets.
Based on this and the shape of her hair, she could be related to the first explorer of Area Zero, Heath.
