Spidops is a viable physical Bug-type attacker that you can use in story battles. You can use it as a lead as it possesses some bulk, and you can use Silk Trap to lower the Speed stat of any opposing Pokemon using physical attacks, then switch in to another Pokemon in your team with U-turn.

Terastallizing into a Bug Tera Type does not bring many benefits apart from losing weaknesses of a Pokemon's original typing.
Most Pokemon will be better off Terastallizing into another type than Bug, as these types will improve their offense or defense better than changing into a Bug-type.
This may be the case, but it doesn't mean that the Bug Tera Type is useless, as it can still be used in story playthroughs.

You will be able to locate a Grafaiai with a Bug Tera Type in Paldea. You can also use this as a physical attacker and boost its Attack stat with Swords Dance and hit harder with Muscle Band.
While Terastallized with its Bug Tera Type, use X-Scissor as your main move. You can dish out huge damage if you are able to buff Grafaiai up before attacking.
You can catch this Grafaiai once you reach the later portions of the game, but rest assured you can include this in your team before you finish the story.
Grafaiai Location, Evolution, and Learnset
Bug-type Pokemon can Terastallize into their own type to boost the power of Bug-type moves. This will also remove the weaknesses of their other typing if there are any.
The primary counter for Bug-type Pokemon are Fire-type moves, which they can easily fend off if they Terastallize into a Fire Tera Type. This will allow them to safely receive Flamethrowers, Fire Blasts, and the like.
You can change your Pokemon's Tera Type to Fire with Fire Tera Shards.
Another viable defensive Tera Type for Bug-type Pokemon is Steel, as this will make them resist Flying and Rock-type moves instead of being vulnerable with these attacks.
Do note, however, that this will retain their weakness to Fire-type attacks, so be wary!
You can change your Pokemon's Tera Type to Steel with Steel Tera Shards.
