Each starter Pokemon in the Terarium spawns in different locations and can be unlocked by completing the Biodiversity Requests in the Support Board in The Indigo Disk DLC in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV). Learn where to find all the starters and how to unlock them in this guide.

Multiple generations of Pokemon starters can be caught in the wild in various locations in the diverse biomes of the Terarium. Some of these starters spawn in very specific locations such as caves or ponds, while some spawn in more general areas of a biome.
To start catching these starters, however, the Boost Biome Diversity Request for their respective biome must be completed first in the Support Board.

Coastal Outdoor Classroom |
Bulbasaur appears in the mountainous area south of the Coastal Biome. Travel to this area by flying to the Coastal Outdoor Classroom fly-point, which is on top of the mountain.

Charmander can be found in the vast plains of the central and southern areas of the Savanna Biome. You can access this area easily by flying to the Savannah Rest Area 1, or Savanna Outdoor Classrom fly-points.

Squirtle spawns along the southern section of the great river in the Canyon Biome. Fly to either the Canyon Plaza or Canyon Outdoor Classroom fly-point to access this area.

Chikorita inhabits in most of the grassy areas of the Coastal Biome]. Fly to the Coastal Rest Area or Coastal Outdoor Classroom fly-point to get to an area they spawn in easily.

Cyndaquil exclusively spawns in a particular cave on an island in the northeast part of the Polar Biome. Fly to the Polar Rest Area fly-point and cross the water towards the island to the east. The cave's entrance is found on the southern part of the island.

Totodile spawns in two particular ponds in the Savanna Biome. The first pond is the one in the north, and the other is the small one in the center of the Savanna Biome. Fly to the Savannah Outdoor Classroom fly-point to get to these places quickly.

Treecko can be found on the grassy plateaus of the Canyon Biome. Fly to the Canyon Plaza fly-point and head south to get there.

Torchic exclusively spawns in a particular cave uphill, south of the Polar Plaza in the Polar Biome. Fly to the Polar Plaza fly-point and climb the mountain directly south to get to this cave.

Mudkip appears inside the Torchlit Labyrinth, which is a large cave system located beneath the large mountain in the Coastal Biome. An entrance to this cave can be accessed to the south of the Coastal Outdoor Classroom fly-point.

Turtwig spawns in the northern half area of the Canyon Biome. You can fly to the Canyon Plaza or Canyon Outdoor Classroom fly-point to get to the area where they spawn.

Chimchar appears in the snowy southern half of the Polar Biome. The Polar Plaza, and Outdoor Classrooms 1 & 2 are fly-points in areas where Chimchar spawns.

Piplup can be found in the vast icy waters of the Polar Biome. Fly to the Polar Rest Area fly-point to quickly get to the center of the Polar Biome's icy waters.

Snivy appears on the plains in the northeast corner of the Savanna Biome. Fly to the Coastal Rest Area fly-point, then travel south and cross to the Savanna Biome to reach this area.

Tepig appears in most of the grassy parts of the Canyon Biome. Fly to the Canyon Outdoor Classroom fly-point and travel east the get to a large area where Tepig spawns.

Oshawott spawns in the vast icy waters of the Polar Biome. Fly to the Polar Rest Area fly-point to quickly get to the center of the Polar Biome's icy waters.
Chespin | |

Chespin is found inside the Chargestone Cave between the Polar and Canyon Biomes. An entrance to this cave can be accessed south of the Polar Outdoor Classroom 1 fly-point.
Though Chespin can be cought in both the Polar Biome and Canyon Biome areas, Chespin is part of the Boost Canyon Biome Biodiversity request in the Support Board.

Fennekin appears in the vast valley west of the Savanna Biome. Fly to the Savanna Plaza fly-point and travel downhill north to get to this area.

Froakie can be found in the waters sorrounding the large northern island in the Coastal Biome. Fly to the Coastal Plaza fly-point to travel to this island.

Wild Rowlet inhabits most areas across the Savanna Biome. You can fly to any fly-point in the Savanna Biome to reach an area where wild Rowlet spawn.

Sobble appears in the eastern, southern, and western muddy ponds in the Savanna Biome. Fly to either the Savanna Outdoor Classrom or Savanna Rest Area 1 fly-points to reach any of these areas.
Completing the Boost Biodiversity requests in the Support Board adds Starter Pokemon in their corresponding biomes. Note that each request costs 3,000 BP so you need to farm a lot of points before you can complete it. In total, you need 12,000 BP to have all the starter Pokemon appear in the Terarium.

After completing the Boost Biodiversity request, the Starter Pokemon should now appear at their corresponding biomes.
There is a rare chance that all of the returning Starter Pokemon can have Mass Outbreaks occur inside their respective habitats. This implies that you can easily hunt for your favorite Starter's shiny form!

There is a rare chance to find the Starter Pokemon compared to other Pokemon, so it is recommended to eat sandwiches to increase the chance of encountering these Starter Pokemon.
You can make the sandwiches listed below to increase the encounter rates of Grass, Fire, or Water-type Starters.

If you do not have upgraded biomes to encounter any starter Pokemon, you can join a multiplayer group where the host has upgraded biomes. This allows players in the Union Circle to encounter the starter Pokemon the host has unlocked in their Terarium.

Since you can catch starter Pokemon in the wild, you will be able to select the Poke Ball that you want to use on them. Below are some recommendations for the best Poke Ball to use for each starter!
