Shell Bell |
Good Special Attack Stat coupled With Amazing Movepool. Access to both Nasty Plot and Acid Spray.. Great support options like Parting Shot and Helping Hand. |
The best ability for Munkidori in Tera Raid Battles is Toxic Chain. This will let you deal double damage with Venoshock without the need to run Toxic.
With access to both Nasty Plot and Acid Spray, Munkidori will contribute a great amount of damage on Tera Raid Bosses coupled with its naturally high Special Attack stat.
Besides Light Screen, Munkidori also has other moves it can use to help out the team like Parting Shot and Helping Hand, so even if you can't damage the enemy much, you can still pivot into a support role.
We also recommend getting a Munkidori with a Poison Tera Type to make its Poison-type moves more powerful. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would work best for this Pokemon.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards increasing the Pokemon's HP and Sp.Atk stats. Max out these EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense. Equip the Pokemon with Shell Bell to regain HP when using damaging moves.
Munkidori Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Light Screen to bolster your defenses against the Tera Raid Boss. |
Turns 2~7 | Alternate the use of Acid Spray and Nasty Plot to lower the Raid Boss' Sp.Def and build up Tera Orb charge. |
Turns 8+ | Terastallize and use Sludge Wave or Venoshock to attack. Refresh your buffs if needed. |
Start the battle by setting up a Light Screen to shield yourself from powerful Special Moves. Then you can buff up with Nasty Plot to max out your Special Attack.
Shred the Raid Boss' Sp. Def using Acid Spray while also building up Tera Orb charges in the process. Once you have enough Tera Orb charges, Terastallize and use Sludge Wave to deal substantial damage to the Raid Boss.
Besides Sludge Wave, you can also use Venoshock if you know you're running a full Poison-type party. This will guarantee that Poison will have high uptime on the Raid Boss.

This Munkidori Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Grass and Fairy-type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss has another type outside of Terastallization, consider using a different build.

Leftovers |
Highest Special Attack of all Pokemon that gets STAB Stored Power + Acid Spray Combo. Access to Calm Mind helps it tank strong Special moves while setting up. Can run Taunt to prevent the Raid Boss from using Status moves. |
The best ability for Munkidori in Tera Raid Battles is Toxic Chain, while not useful against Poison Tera Raids, it is still better than Frisk.
Munkidori has one of the best Special Attack of all Pokemon that can get both Acid Spray and Stored Power. Beating out both Armarouge and Galarian Slowking.
If you know another party member will be running a Pokemon that can set up Psychic Terrain, Munkidori can instead run Taunt to prevent stat-lowering Status Moves so you can set-up without much worry.
We recommend getting a Munkidori with a Psychic Tera Type since it will improve the power of its Psychic-type Stored Power. As an Attacker with a focus on Special Moves, a Modest nature would be best.
Best Tera Types: Best Pokemon to Terastallize
Max out Munkidori's HP and Sp.Atk EVs while adding the remaining 4 EVs into Special Defense so that Munkidori can hit as hard as possible with Stored Power and Acid Spray while also being able tot ank hits from powerful Special Attackers.
For this build, giving it Leftovers will allow it to heal up while setting up for its Stored Power Nuke.
Munkidori Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turns 1~6 | Use Calm Mind to max out your respective Stats. |
Turns 7~10 | Use Acid Spray to lower the Raid Boss' Sp Def as low as possible and charge your Tera Orb. |
Turn 11 | Use Psychic Terrain to boost the damage of Stored Power. |
Turns ~12+ | Terastallize and use Stored Power to deal a lot of damage! |
Start off by setting up your buffing moves with stacking Calm Minds. This will give Munkidori a lot of buffs for Stored Power to hit harder.
You then need to shred the opponent's Sp. Def. with Acid Spray. You also need to do this in order to build up Tera Orb charges!
When you have enough Tera Orb charge to terastallize, set up a Psychic Terrain and then proceed to Terastalize and start spamming Stored Power to damage the raid Pokemon's shield and finish the battle!

Super Effective (2x) |
|
---|---|
Not Very Effective (x0.5) | |
No Effect (x0) |
This Munkidori Tera Raid Build is an effective counter to Poison and Fighting Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Dark, Bug, or Steel Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Munkidori will be weak to these Types as a Psychic-Type attacker.
