Shell Bell |
The best ability for Tatsugiri in Tera Raid Battles is Storm Drain, which raises Tatsugiri's Special Attack by one stage when hit by a Water-type move. This also gives Tatsugiri immunity to Water-type moves.
We also recommend getitng a Tatsugiri with a Water Tera Type to boost the power of its Hydro Pump. As a Special Attacker, a Modest Nature is best to ensure that its special attacks hit as hard as possible.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards bulky offense. Max out your HP and Special Attack to give it as much bulk and special offense as possible while adding the remaining EVs into Defense.
Giving Tatsugiri a Shell Bell ensures that it recovers health while dealing damage.
Tatsugiri Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1~3 | Use Dragon Pulse to generate Tera Orb charge. Note: Even if Tatsugiri faints, it will retain its Tera Orb charge after reviving. |
Turns 4~6 | Use Nasty Plot three times to max out Tatsugiri's Special Attack. |
Turns 7+ | Terastallize into a Water-type and use Hydro Pump to finish the battle. |
Start the Tera Raid by using Dragon Pulse to generate Tera Orb charge. If Tatsugiri faints, it will retain its charges once it revives.
Use Nasty Plot three times to boost Tatsugiri's Special Attack by 6 stages.
Once you have enough Tera Orb charge, terastallize into a Water-type and use Hydro Pump to one-shot and finish the battle.

This Water Tera Special Attacker Raid Build is an effective counter to Fire, Ground and Rock Type Tera Raid Bosses. If the Tera Raid Boss is usually a Dragon or Fairy Type outside of Terastallization, perhaps consider a different build, as Tatsugiri will be weak to both types before terastallizing.
