Unfortunately, the 2023 Yokohama Open has been announced to be canceled. Players can look forward to other events and festivities during Worlds Weekend instead.
The Yokohama Open features tournaments for players who have been eliminated from the Pokemon World Championships, as well as spectators.
That said, players participating in the Yokohama Open must have a Spectator Badge or a Competitor Badge.
Pokemon World Championships 2023
Spectator Badges were awarded via a Lottery System. If you are not able to get a Spectator Badge this way, you may not be eligible for one anymore, as spectator requests ended on June 8, 2023.
The Yokohama Open will have tournaments for the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Video Games (VGC) and Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG).
Both tournaments will be played on the game's most current format, with Regulation D for VGC, and Standard Format for the TCG.

A tournament structure unique to the Yokohama Open will be used for this event.

---|---|---|
If 7 Rounds | 5 | 2 |
If 8 Rounds | 6 | 2 |
If 9 Rounds | 7 | 2 |
If there are more than 800 Masters Division competitors, the Masters Division tournament will be split into two separate tournaments, with each tournament operating as separate events from each other. This means that there will be two first-place finishers.
These will also have their own separate Championship Point prizes based on those separate tournaments.
Players will be randomly divided between the two tournaments.
Registration will begin in July and will only take place online. Seating will also be limited with spectator seat sales transpiring until the event is full or until Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 5:00 PM. JST.
Entry fees for the Yokohama Open are ¥4,500 for Masters Division players and ¥2,500 for Junior and Senior Division.
If you are a Worlds competitor who advances to Day Two, your registration to the Yokohama Open will be refunded.
Do note that the Yokohama Open will run concurrently with Day 2 of the World Championships, so please remember that you will not be able to compete in both events.
The number of Championship Points awarded at the Yokohama Open will be based on attendance per age division, as per the 2024 season Championship Point schedules.
