The best ability for Skeledirge in Tera Raid Battles is Unaware. This allows you to ignore any stat boosts that the Raid Boss may give themselves from their moves.
We also recommend getting a Skeledirge with a Ghost Tera Type because of its STAB and great synergy with Skeledirge's signature move. Alternatively, you can use a Skeledirge with a Fire Tera Type which will boost Torch Song further.
As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.
Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your Special Attack and HP EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Defense. Give it a Throat Spray as a held item to further boost its Sp. Atk.
Skeledirge Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy | |
---|---|
Turn 1 | Use Will-O-Wisp to halve the Raid Pokemon's Attack, and deal residual damage. |
Turns 2~4 | Use Torch Song to raise Skeledirge's Sp. Atk while also charging your Tera Orb. Use Slack Off to recover HP as needed. |
Turns 5+ | Terastallize and use Shadow Ball or Torch Song to deal boosted damage. |
Start the battle by using Will-O-Wisp to burn and halve the Raid Boss' Attack. From there, use Torch Song to gain Sp. Atk boosts, while also activating Throat Spray.
After you obtain enough Tera Orb charge, Terastallize and use Shadow Ball or Torch Song, depending on the Raid Pokemon's Tera type. Remember to use Slack Off whenever you are under 50% HP.

The easiest way to acquire a Skeledirge with a Fire Tera Type is to choose Fuecoco as your starter Pokemon.
Unfortunately, Skeledirge nor Fuecoco appear in the wild, so if you chose Sprigatito or Quaxly as your starter, you will have to acquire a Skeledirge by trading with other players.
How to Trade Locally and Online
Unfortunately, Skeledirge can't learn the move Yawn. The only way you can do this is to have your Fuecoco learn Yawn at Lv. 17.
To do this, do not evolve your Fuecoco when prompted at Lv. 16. Instead, wait for it to learn Yawn at Lv. 17. Only then can you evolve it into a Crocalor.
If it has a different nature, you can use a Modest Mint to change its nature to Modest.
The easiest way to get this is by buying it from the Chansey Supply shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
How to Change a Pokemon's Nature
The only way you can get Skeledirge's Unaware ability is by using an Ability Patch.
Unfortunately, this item can't be bought. It can only be obtained randomly from 6-Star Tera Raid Battles.
Ability Capsule Location and How to Get
If you have the money for it, you can just buy 26 Calcium (for Sp. Atk), 26 HP Up (for HP), and a Zinc (for Sp. Def), or an Iron (for Def). All of these items can be bought at a Chansey Supply shop and it will cost you ₽530,000 in total.
Alternatively, you can use Power Items that you can buy at a Delibird Presents shop for ₽10,000 each. Have your Pokemon hold the respective Power Item while defeating the Pokemon listed below.
Held Item | Number of Pokemon to Defeat | Defeat Any of These Pokemon |
---|---|---|
Power Weight
(For HP EVs) |
28 in Total (To get 252 HP EVs) |
・Azurill ・Lechonk ・Paldean Wooper Location: South of Los Platos |
Power Lens

・Psyduck ・Toxel ・Hatenna Location: South Province (Area 4) |

After EV training it, head to Montenevera and talk to the man with an Abomasnow near the Pokemon Center. He will hyper train your Pokemon using Bottle Caps.
A Bottle Cap can be bought at the Delibird Presents shops for ₽20,000 after getting 6 Gym Badges. 1 Bottle Cap is needed for each stat that will be maxed out.
Hyper Training: How to Increase IVs
Next, level it up to 100 to maximize its stats. The easiest way to do this is by farming Exp candies from Tera Raid Battles.
How to Level Up Fast: EXP Farming Guide
Lastly, give Skeledirge a Throat Spray to further boost its Special Attack.
This item can be bought from the Delibird Presents shop at Mesagoza for ₽20,000.
As mentioned above, only Fuecoco can learn the move Yawn in its evolution line so you need to wait for it to learn Yawn at Lv. 17 before you can evolve it into Crocalor.
Once it has the move Yawn, be very careful not to replace it with other moves. Else, you need to get a different Fuecoco.
Unfortunately, if your Skeledirge doesn't have Yawn, you need to breed for a Fuecoco and have it learn Yawn at Lv. 17.
Once it has the move, you need to go through all the steps above again to make sure it's as strong as it can be.
How to Breed Pokemon and Get Eggs
Move | Type | Power | Acc. | PP |
---|---|---|---|---|
Shadow Ball | 80 | 100 | 15 | |
Will-O-Wisp | - | 85 | 15 | |
Torch Song | 80 | 100 | 10 |
Torch Song, Will-O-Wisp, and Shadow Ball are moves that Skeledirge can learn at Lv. 36, Lv. 47, and Lv.38 respectively.
If your Skeledirge is way ahead of these levels, you can have it remember the moves by going to the "Moves and Stats" menu and pressing A.
1 | Catch a Slowpoke, then make them remember the move Slack Off. |
---|---|
2 | Buy a Mirror Herb at Delibird Presents in Cascarrafa. The item costs ₽30,000 so make sure you have enough money. |
3 | Remove everyone from your party except for Slowpoke and Skeledirge. There should only be two Pokemon in your party. |
4 | Delete one of Skeledirge's moves, then let it hold the Mirror Herb. |
5 | Have a picnic with Slowpoke and Skeledirge. Wait for a few minutes, then pack up. Check Skeledirge's summary to see that it now has Slack Off! |

Metronome is a better option than Throat Spray with Skeledirge. The main tactic is to Yawn/Will-O-Wisp turn one and then spam Torch Song. You'll get more damage output from Metronome and it won't get nullified by the Tera Raid Mon like the +1 Sp. Attack bonus from Throat Spray does.

May I ask, how come we need it to know Yawn?
