Flare Blitz
・ Facade ・ Double Kick ・ Protect |
Guts gives Flareon a 50% Attack boost when afflicted by a status condition, which this build easily activates with Toxic Orb and Protect. Flare Blitz is its main STAB move, dealing significant damage to anyone that doesn't resist it once boosted by Guts.
Facade is its secondary move that gets STAB once Flareon terastallizes into a Normal-type. This move actually deals more damage than Flare Blitz as it becomes a base 140 power move once Flareon is afflicted by Poison from its Toxic Orb.
Curse | Cruse is a good alternative to Protect that, while lowering its Speed stat, also raises Flareon's Attack and Defense by one stage. |
---|---|
Flareon's limited physical movepool means it needs to rely on its Guts Ability and Facade to give it some form of coverage.
While it's slow and easily outsped, it's difficult to switch into once its Toxic Orb activates and it terastallizes into a Normal-type to get STAB on Facade.
Flareon needs a lot of support to switch into since it's weak to Stealth Rock and Spikes before it terastallizes into a Normal-type. As a result, Pokemon that can get rid of these entry hazards make great partners and can cover its main weaknesses.
Lead Support | Physical Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Iron Treads | Flareon | Wash Rotom |
Iron Treads' main role is to ensure Flareon gets into the field safely by using Rapid Spin to remove hazards, while also setting up Stealth Rock for your team.
Wash Rotom serves as this team's Special Attacker, providing some much needed coverage and checking bulky Water-types that will easily wall Flareon.
Flareon's ability to hit hard with Facade is offset by its middling Speed stat, which makes it very easy to revenge kill by faster attackers.
Pokemon | Description |
---|---|
Iron Bundle | Ranking: ★★★★★
・Easily outspeeds Flareon and can KO with STAB Hydro Pump. ・Best used as a revenge killer once it can safely switch in. |
Gyarados | Ranking: ★★★★
・Resists Flareon's main STAB and lowers its Attack with Intimidate. ・Bulkier variants can use Flareon as setup fodder with Dragon Dance. |
Drednaw | Ranking: ★★★★
・Naturally outspeeds Flareon and resists both Flare Blitz and Facade. ・Can retaliate with STAB Liquidation or Stone Edge. |
