Flare Blitz
・ Collision Course ・ Taunt ・ Bulk Up |
This Koraidon build aims to sweep after one Bulk Up, making Koraidon immensely physically bulky. Taunt is used to prevent opposing Pokemon from setting up.
Flare Blitz and Collision Course are Koraidon's main means of dealing damage and getting KOs.
Wild Charge | Wild Charge lets Koraidon hit Water-types like Azumarill and prevent them from trying to wall Koraidon. |

Moveset | ・
Flare Blitz
・ Collision Course ・ Dragon Claw ・ U-turn |
This build aims to click Flare Blitz every turn and damage anything in front of it. You can opt to boost its damage further by Terastallizing into Fire. Collision Course is an option against Fighting-weak Pokemon, where Flare Blitz is a less optimal option.
Dragon Claw deals neutral damage to most types but is risky to Choice lock into. While U-Turn gives Koraidon a way to pivot out of the active position.
Wild Charge | Wild Charge lets Koraidon hit Water-types like Azumarill and prevent them from trying to wall Koraidon. |

In the recently concluded Paldea Prologue Online Competition, all 400 Paldea Pokedex Pokemon are legal, including Koraidon and Miraidon. This was the best team for using Koraidon in this competition.
This build may be relevant again in future regulations.
Best Teams for Paldea Prologue
Koraidon has natural synergy with both Talonflame and Great Tusk. Orichalcum Pulse can trigger Great Tusk's Protosynthesis, and it can also boost Talonflame's Fire-type attacks.
Azumarill is in this team composition as a Priority Move user with its Aqua Jet and it can also break walls after a successful Belly Drum. Amoonguss and Arcanine round out the team as an effective support duo.
This team makes use of the Choice Scarf Doubles Build below, however the Life Orb Build would also be good because of access to Protect.
Build Name | Recommendation |

Regulation G Life Orb Physical Attacker | ★★★★ |
Choice Scarf Physical Attacker | ★★★★ |
Nature | Jolly (+Spe, -Sp. Atk) |

Ability | Orichalcum Pulse |
Tera Type | |
Held Item | Life Orb |
Moveset | ・
Flare Blitz
・ Collision Course ・ Wild Charge ・ Protect |
Flare Blitz and Collision Course are auto-includes for Koraidon's moveset, with Wild Charge as its coverage move of choice. Protect is a useful move for stalling out turns of Trick Room or for scouting your opponent's moves.
Koraidon is a strong option in Regulation G, where it will be legal. Its Fighting typing makes it a strong match against Terapagos, a top tier contender in the Regulation G format.
Stomping Tantrum | Stomping Tantrum gives Koraidon Ground-type coverage, which is generally useful for hitting most Pokemon for neutral damage. |

Dragon Claw deals neutral damage to most types but is risky to Choice lock into. While U-Turn gives Koraidon a way to pivot out of the active position.
This build was usable in the Paldea Prologue, and may be usable in future regulations.
Wild Charge | Wild Charge lets Koraidon hit Water-types like Azumarill and prevent them from trying to wall Koraidon. |
---|
Sun-boosted Flare Blitz is incredibly powerful and can break through even dedicated Walls.
Try Terastallizing into Fire to boost its damage even further!
Paradox Pokemon Builds for Competitive Battles and Tera Raids
Koraidon is best suited in teams that can take advantage of its Sun. Protosynthesis and Chlorophyll Pokemon can take full advantage of Sun.
Physical Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|
Koraidon | Flutter Mane |
Special Attacker | Support |
Chi-Yu | Grimmsnarl |
n Regualation G, Koraidon can trigger Flutter Mane's Protosynthesis by setting up Sun. Flutter Mane can then lower the opposing team's Speed with Icy Wind.
Having a means to control Sun is also valuable, as it can help Chi-Yu deal even more damage with Sun-boosted Heat Wave used in conjunction with Beads of Ruin which reduces every Pokemon besides Chi-Yu's Special Defense.
Grimmsnarl is a great support Pokemon that can help your team defensively, especially since they are not particularly bulky.
Physical Attacker | Special Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Koraidon | Flutter Mane | Skeledirge |
Koraidon setting up Sun for teammates with Protosynthesis is very useful for Pokemon like Flutter Mane who can benefit off a Speed boost. Flutter Mane can afford to run Items like Life Orb, Choice Specs, or Focus Sash instead of Booster Energy.
Skeledirge benefits from the Sun, which powers up its Torch Song. It is also a hefty Tank that becomes difficult to KO late-game.
Speed Control can help you attack before Koraidon. Moves like Tailwind, Scary Face, or Trick Room can help turn the matchup in your favor.
Pokemon | Description |

Flutter Mane | Ranking: ★★★★★
・Opposing Flutter Mane can get a Speed boost and immediately threaten Koraidon with a powerful Moonblast. ▶️Flutter Mane Best Movesets |
Azumarill | Ranking: ★★★★
・Azumarill threatens most of Koraidon's Moves and can threaten with a super-effective Play Rough. ▶️Azumarill Best Movesets |
