Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Koraidon Gliding forward
You can fly at incredible speeds using the glide glitch to cover the entire Paldean map in one trip in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)! Read on to learn what the glide glitch is, and the steps to do the glide glitch!

What is the High Speed Glide Glitch?

Fly at Super Accelerated Speed

The Glide Glitch is a recently discovered glitch that allows player to fly at incredible speeds when riding Koraidon or Miraidon. The bug is apparently caused by the fact that you gain a short burst of speed when gliding, but there is a specific way to stack the speed bursts to be able to fly extremely fast.

Similar to Flying with Latios and Latias in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

This glitch was actually a standard feature in the Post-Game of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, where players were able to fly the Jet Pokemon, Mega Latios and Mega Latias to easily traverse across the map.

How to Do the Fast Glide Glitch

Requirements for Glide Glitch

  • Dash and Glide Ride Abilities
  • Access to Glaseado Mountain Peak (not a strict requirement, but the best way to do this glitch)

How to Do the Glide Glitch

1 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Glaseado Peak
Head to Glaseado Mountain Peak
2 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Koraidon Gliding
Ride Koraidon/Miraidon, and Dash then jump to Glide.
3 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Koraidon Falling
While Gliding, press B to cancel
4 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Koraidon Falling with joystick tilted
Tilt the joystick to the left or right while pressing B repeatedly.
5 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Koraidon accelerated gliding
Just as Koraidon/Miraidon begin their glide, tilt your joystick forward to accelerate. Getting the timing right on this forward tilt is the most important part.
If you can't get the timing right, try jiggling the joystick side to side after Koraidon/Miraidon starts gliding.
6 Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Koraidon Gliding forward
Repeat steps 3~5 until you see a noticable speed boost and solid white vapor trails!

High Speed Glide Glitch Uses

Able to Reach the Potential DLC Area

By using the Glide Glitch, you can access areas that you normally could not, one example being the supposed DLC Area, which is currently just a large rock formation. It is also possible to fly out of bounds, so be careful when using this glitch!
Will There Be DLC? Possible Release Date in 2023

Traverse the Paldean Map Much Faster

Using this glitch it is possible to go from one side of the map to the other in seconds. That means this glitch is potentially faster than even quick flying to a location in certain circumstances, as it removes the loading time, and allows you to quickly move to locations that may be further away from fly points.

High Speed Glide Glitch Limitations

Difficult to Master

Getting the timing right on the glide cancels, upward tilt, and B-button mashing can be quite tricky. It does get easier with practice however, so do not be disheartened.

Limited Time Window

The amount of time you are able to freely jet across Paldea is limited. After the regular amount of glide time, you will go into a free-fall, albeit at the accelerated speed.

Causes Lag

Gliding too fast will cause the game to try to load your surroundings one after the other. The game should return to normal after you land, but noticeable drop in performance can occur while you are mid-flight.

Can You Get Banned from Doing the Glide Glitch?

The Glide Glitch exists due to an error with how the Glide was programmed, so there should be no reason for players to be banned from doing so. It also does not give players an unfair advantage. This bug, however, is expected to be fixed in a future update.
