Terrain Moves Give Buffs or Debuffs to Pokemon

Ice Spinner terrain move - Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)

Most terrain moves give bonuses to specific types of Pokemon for a set amount of turns.

Moves like Electric, Grassy, and Psychic Terrain power up the moves of Electric, Grass, and Psychic-type Pokemon respectively.

Meanwhile, other terrain moves either destroy a terrain set up by the enemy (Steel Roller, Ice Spinner) or decrease damage from a specific type of Pokemon (Misty Terrain).

Use terrain moves well, and you will gain the advantage in most battles.
