Summary

The best ability for Arboliva in Tera Raid Battles is Seed Sower, as it can offer its partners incremental recovery and a change in Terrain when Arboliva is hit by Pikachu's attack.

Best Tera Type

We also recommended getting an Arboliva with a Grass Tera Type because this will boost Arboliva's STAB Giga Drain or Terrain Pulse when it Terastallizes. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.

This build had Covert Cloak to protect it from the secondary effects of Pikachu's moves, such as paralysis from Thunder.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Special Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense.

Tera Raid Strategy

Arboliva Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1~3 Use Energy Ball to accumulate Tera Orb Charge.
Optional Use Sunny Day to lower the damage of Pikachu's Surf.
Turns 4+ Once you have accumulated enough charge, terastallize into a Grass type and deal boosted damage with Giga Drain or Terrain Pulse.

With the correct setup, Arboliva can defeat Pikachu in less than 5 turns thanks to passive recovery with its Seed Sower Ability. At the start of the battle, use Energy Ball on the first three turns to accumulate Tera Orb Charge.

Arboliva will still retain the Tera Orb Charge it gained from using Energy Ball even if it gets knocked out so focus on getting as much charge as possible.

Once you have enough charge, terastallize into a Grass-type and deal as much damage with Giga Drain and Terrain Pulse to finish the battle.

Summary

The best ability for Lurantis in Tera Raid Battles is Contrary, as it will allow Lurantis to boost its Special Attack instead of reducing it with Leaf Storm.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Lurantis with a Grass Tera Type because this will boost Lurantis's STAB Leaf Storms when it Terastallizes. As a Special Attacker, a Modest nature would be best.

EV Spread Explanation

Tera Raid EV spreads should lean towards a bulky offense to help with survivability and with dealing as much damage as possible. Max out your HP and Special Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense.

Tera Raid Strategy

Contrary Lurantis Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Sunny Day to reduce the power of Pikachu's Surf and increase the amount of healing from Synthesis.
Turns 2~7 Alternate between Synthesis to heal Lurantis's HP when needed, and Leaf Storm until Lurantis is at +6.
Turns 8+ Terastallize and use stat-boosted Solar Beam.

This takes a few more turns to defeat Pikachu, but it's faster at depleting its HP once it terastallizes. Start by using Sunny Day to reduce the power of Pikachu's Surfs and increase the HP healed by Synthesis.

Using Leaf Storm three times maxes out Lurantis' Special Attack thanks to its Contrary Ability. Just make sure to use PP Up or PP Max on Leaf Storm so that you do not run out of PP during the raid.

Once you have enough Tera Orb Charge, terastallize into a Grass-type and use Solar Beam to deal boosted damage on Pikachu and finish the battle.

Summary

The best ability for Lilligant in Tera Raid Battles is Leaf Guard, as it will protect Lilligant from Thunder's paralysis while in Sun. This works hand-in-hand with Lilligant's Sunny Day.

Best Tera Type

We also recommend getting a Lilligant with a Grass Tera Type because this will boost Lilligant's STAB Giga Drain and Energy Ball when it Terastallizes.

Quiver Dance Lilligant Tera Raid Turn-by-Turn Counter Strategy
Turn 1 Use Sunny Day to weaken Pikachu's Surf, lower Pikachu's Thunder's accuracy, and activate Lilligant's Leaf Guard Ability, which will protect it from paralysis!
Turn 2~4 Use Giga Drain to charge your Tera Orb.
Turns 5~7 Use Quiver Dance to boost Lilligant's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed.
Turns 8+ Terastallize and Use Energy Ball to deal large damage to Pikachu.

This build takes longer to finish solo but it can quickly deplete Pikachu's HP once it gets enough Tera Orb charge to terastallize. Start by using Sunny Day to reduce the power of Pikachu's Surf. This also prevents it from getting paralyzed thanks to its Leaf Guard Ability.

Use Giga Drain to charge your Tera Orb. Even if it gets knocked out, it will retain its Tera Orb Charge once it revives.

Once revived, use Quiver Dance to boost Lilligant's Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed and then finish off the battle by using boosted Energy Ball after terastallizing into a Grass-type.

7-Star Pikachu Best Counter Team Strategies

Lurantis and Leafeon Two-Shot Strategy

This two-shot strategy requires a dedicated team with a Support Leafeon to set up Sun, boost Lurantis' Special Defense with Fake Tears, and boost damage output with Helping Hand.

How to Two Shot Pikachu

Turn 1

At the start of the Raid, Pikachu will put up its Energy Shield, use Rain Dance, and use Surf.

The Leafeon should start by using Sunny Day to remove the effects of Rain, effectively weakening Pikachu's Surf.

Lurantis should start using Leaf Storm to build up Tera Orb Charge while also increasing its Sp. Atk by 2 stages each turn.

Turns 2~3

For the next 2 turns, Lurantis should keep using Leaf Storm to continue building Tera Orb Charge and reach +6 Sp. Atk.

The support Leafeon should then switch to using Fake Tears on Lurantis to boost its Sp. Def, making it tankier against Pikachu's Thunder.

Turn 4

By turn 4, if the Raid Pikachu did not steal your team's Tera Orb Charge, Lurantis should have enough charge to Terastallize. Use Grassy Terrain to boost the damage of Grass-type moves, paving the way for your next two Solar Beams.

Leafeon should use Heal Up! here, since Lurantis will most likely be at below 50% HP from tanking Pikachu's Attacks.

Turns 5~6

By turn 5, the Support Leafeon should use Helping Hand, to boost Lurantis' damage output.

Lurantis should use Solar Beam after the Helping Hand animation, and this should bring Pikachu's HP to around 50%. Repeating the same process next turn should knock out the Raid Pikachu for a 2-hit KO!

Pikachu with the Unrivaled Mark

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV) - Mightiest Mark Pikachu

The biggest reward from conquering this raid is the opportunity to catch Water Tera Pikachu itself. Keep in mind that it can only be caught once per save file.

The Pikachu has its Hidden Ability Lightning Rod, max IVs in every stat, and the unique Mightiest Mark which confers it the title of Pikachu the Unrivaled.

Shiny Pikachu Will Not Appear in Raids

You will not be able to encounter any Shiny Pikachu for the entire duration of the raid event. If you want a Shiny Pikachu, you will have to hunt for one in the wild, breed or try regular Pikachu raids!

How to Join the 7-Star Pikachu Event

Unlock 6-Star Tera Raids to Participate

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet - 7-Star Charizard Tera Raid Battle World View

Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark normally cannot be found in Paldea, making the 7-Star Event Pikachu quite the catch, but you have to fight it in a Black Crystal Tera Raid.

These raids are tough, so trainers will have to prepare in advance. It's also recommended to complete the post-game before you participate. Players who are in earlier points of the game can still join via Link Code, but it is highly discouraged since these 7-Star raids will be extremely difficult.

Black Tera Raids vs. Normal Tera Raids

Remember that Black Tera Raid symbols on the map do not come in any other color except black. Meanwhile, normal Tera Raid symbols are colored according to the Tera Type of the Pokemon in them.

When you're looking for the Tera Raid with the 7-Star Unrivaled Pikachu, keep your eyes peeled for a Black Tera Raid symbol on the map with the Water-type Pokemon icon.

Unrivaled Pikachu Raid FAQs

What is Water-type's Weakness?

Water Types are Weak to Grass and Electric-type Moves

Pokemon SV - Sudowoodo Using Trailblaze.png
Pikachu, during the Tera Raid, will have a Water Tera Type and not its regular Electric Type. Its only weakness however, will be Grass Type moves as it will be immune to Electric moves thanks to its Lightning Rod Hidden Ability. Make sure to come prepared with Grass Type Pokemon!

Can You Catch Unrivaled Pikachu Again?

Only Catchable Once Per Event

Players can only catch one 7-Star Pikachu, but even after they catch it, Black Crystals containing Pikachu will still spawn in their game once per day, and they can still participate in others' raids.

However, they cannot catch another Unrivaled Pikachu, and will only gain the other rewards for participating.

Can You Breed the 7-Star Pikachu?

You Can Breed However it Will Not Pass Down its Tera Type or Mightiest Mark

Pokemon that have been bred from the Unrivaled Pikachu will not inherit the Water Tera Type or the Mightiest Mark from the 7-Star Pikachu. If you want to have another with a Water Tera Type, you need to collect and use 50 Water Tera Shards to change its Tera Type.

Breeding Guide: How to Breed and Get Eggs

Will Unrivaled Pikachu Have Its Hidden Ability?

Pokemon Day Raid Pikachu Will Probably Have Hidden Ability

The raid Pikachu that you will encounter will most likely have Lightning Rod, which is its Hidden Ability. This effectively leaves Water Tera Pikachu with just one weakness, Grass!
