The best Held Item is Eviolite, which was found to work with Dipplin. This increases its bulk drastically even allowing it to survive one Moonblast from Flutter Mane!
| Syrup Bomb | Energy Ball |
| Dragon Pulse | Recover |
Syrup Bomb is a Grass-type STAB option that lowers the target's Speed by one stage over three turns. This is useful for gaining the upper hand in turn order.
Energy Ball is a Grass-type STAB option that is a 100% accurate unlike Syrup Bomb. Use it to threaten opposing Water-type Pokemon.
Dragon Pulse is a Dragon-type STAB option that can deal good neutral damage to non-Steel and Fairy-type Pokemon.
Recover is used on turns were Dipplin is not threatened to allow it to heal back half of its HP.

Best Steel Type Pokemon for Ranked Battle
The majority of the EVs are put into Dipplin's HP and Sp. Def, while the remaining EVs are put into Sp. Atk, so that Dipplin can become very bulky while still doing decent damage.
A Modest Nature is preferred so that Dipplin can deal as much damage as it can with its meager Special Attack stat.
| Tera Blast | Tera Blast Steel can be used to threaten opposing Fairy-types like Flutter Mane. |
|---|---|
| Growth | Used only on Sun Teams. Will increase Dipplin's Sp. Atk by 2 stages under sunlight. |

The best Held Item is Eviolite, which was found to work with Dipplin. This increases its bulk drasticallym even allowing it to survive one Moonblast from Flutter Mane!
| Syrup Bomb | Draco Meteor |
| Pollen Puff | Protect |
Syrup Bomb is a strong Grass-type STAB option that lowers the target's Speed by one stage over three turns. This is useful for gaining the upper hand in turn order.
Draco Meteor is a useful STAB option to have for when Dipplin has to deal as much damage as possible.
Pollen Puff can heal teammates and deal some damage to opponents.
Protect is for defensive turns, where Dipplin does not have to attack.
| Fire Tera Type Matchup | ||

| Weak to: | ||
| (2x) | ||
| Damaged Normally By: |
(1x) | |
| Resists: | (0.5x) | |
Fire is the best Tera Type for this build as it can give Dipplin a resistance to Ice, Bug, and Fire. This also allows Dipplin to take neutral damage from Poison and Flying-type attacks.
Best Fire Type Pokemon for Ranked Battle
Full 252 EVs are put into Dipplin's HP and Special Attack, while the remaining 4 EVs are put into Defense, so that Dipplin can better take neutral special hits.

Game8's Competitive Damage Calculator
Dippling is very bulky thanks to its Eviolite item, so pait it up with other bulky Pokemon that can switch into moves that Dipplin is weak to.
Dipplin's Gimmick comes from its Supersweet Syrup Evasion debuff gimmick. Teammates that have powerful or disruptive Moves can benefit greatly from this debuff and are great teammates to have.
| Bulky Fire-type | Bulky Grass-type | Bulky Water-type |
|---|---|---|
Heatran
|
Dipplin
|
Dondozo
|
Dipplin pair well with other Fire and Water-type Pokemon since they complete the Fire/Grass/Water defensive core.
Heatran is one of the best defensive Pokemon in the game thanks to its Fire/Steel typing, while Dondozo has incredible bulk with the bonus of ignoring setup Pokemon thanks to Unaware.

Espathra, after a Speed Boost, can put every Pokemon on your opponent's side to sleep with Hypnosis.
Iron Bundle can Tera Ice and spam Blizzard, while Indeedee can come in and protect Iron Bundle from Rillaboom's Grassy Glide.
Dipplin, though decently bulky with Eviolite, will be unable to take repeated super-effective hits. Multiple instances of Moonblast and Ice Beams are no good for Dipplin.
