A Shiny Hatless Tera Rayquaza was seen coming out of Roy's Poke Ball! Read on to learn what we know so about Shiny Hatless Tera Rayquaza, what it means for Terastallization and its connection to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and the DLC.

Shiny Black Rayquaza was Ancient Traveller's Ace Pokemon
All of the Ancient Traveller's Team Have a Travel Related Role
In the Tale of the Ancient Traveller it is detailed how the traveller had 6 companion Pokemon, including a Black Rayquaza, and Giant Arboliva. Each had a specific role on the team, with one climbing rocks and mountains, one traversing oceans, one soaring the skies, one travelling on land at blazing speeds, and another healing his team when needed.
We now know that this Rayquaza belongs to the Ancient Traveller, and may be his designated Battle Role Pokemon, although we are yet to learn. This would be an essential role of any team and is yet to be detailed, so it is quite likely.

Roy's Ancient Pokeball Connected to Shiny Rayquaza?
Shiny Rayquaza is Seen Terastallized Without a Hat
In an episode of the new anime series Pokemon Horizons, a potential new and never-before-seen Terastal Form was teased during the episode.
A Shiny Tera Rayquaza emerged from the clouds after a beam shot out from Roy's Ancient Pokeball. It was sparkling like a Tera Pokemon, but without a 'Hat'. This Pokemon may have implications for a new Terastal form outside of what we know so far from the games, which may possibly be revealed in a future Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC.
There could potentially be new hatless, or potentially even Masked Tera Forms in the DLC for select fan-favorites, such as Starter and Legendary Pokemon.
The Indigo Disk Release Date and New Pokemon
Roy's Ancient Pokeball May be a Tera Orb
It's currently unknown how Liko and Roy's ancient artifacts may be related, though Roy's Pokeball may be the case, while Liko's Pendant may be a key component of the Tera Orb, or may even be instrumental to Rayquaza appearing in the form that it appears in.
Resonates with Liko's Pendant when in Danger
Liko's pendant, alongside Roy's Pokeball, is shown to resonate and glow when a Pokemon is in trouble. In the preview of Episode 6, it shows the two items glowing after a Ceruledge defeats Sprigatito and Fuecoco.

Anime Implications for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and the DLC
Rayquaza Flying Over Paldea
In the 8th Episode of Pokemon Horizons, the Quaxly gave Liko and Roy a drawing of what appears to be the Shiny Rayquaza flying above the Skies of Paldea. This implies that we will be seeing more of Paldea in the coming episodes, but this could also hint at things to come to the main games.
With Pokemon HOME transfer being made available to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, it is possible that a Tera Raid Event featuring Rayquaza may be announced leading up to the release of the next Pokemon Horizons Episode.
Pokemon HOME Version 3.0.0 Compatibility Patch Update (May 24)
Possible Appearance of Weather Trio
With Rayquaza's appearance in the Paldea Region, we might also be looking at a possible appearance of both Kyogre and Groudon in Paldea.
New Tera Forms
With the reveal of Hatless Tera Rayquaza, this opens up possibilities for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to feature new and different Tera types, outside of the forms we have already seen. This new form may be different to regular Terastallization, just like how Dynamax was similar yet different to Gigantamax.
With variations to Terastallization, we could see all-new Tera Raid events in the future!
Legendary Tera Raid Events
The Crown Tundra DLC in Pokemon Sword and Shield brought along Legendary Raid Den Adventures. Perhaps we could see new Legendary Tera Raid Events to replace the current slew of 7-Star Starter Raid Events we have become accustomed to!

Shields Liko When She is in Danger
Connection to Each Other, as well as the Turtle Pokemon will be Revealed!
Roy's Ancient Pokeball, along with Shiny Rayquaza was said to have been in the possession of a famous Ancient Traveller. Meanwhile, Liko's pendant was seen reacting to Liko being in danger, protecting her from Corviknight's attacks, suggest that Terapagos and its pre-evolution could have defense related abilities.
