In previous Pokemon games, you would bring your Pokemon to a Nursery or Daycare to obtain eggs. But do these services still exist in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Read on to find out whether or not they are still in the game, and the alternatives to their services.

Are Nurseries or Daycares Still in the Game?

Picnics Have Replaced Nurseries

A Picnic Basket - Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)

Nurseries and Daycares no longer exist in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Instead, the services they provide have been replaced by the new Picnic mechanic, where you simply need to bring together two Pokemon of the same Egg Group to produce a Pokemon Egg.

This way, you also have a bit more control over the breeding process. Before the picnic, you can have your Pokemon hold breeding-related items like Destiny Knots and Everstones to pass down their Individual Values (IVs) and Natures to their offspring.

Farm EXP to Level Up Your Pokemon Quickly

Farming EXP - Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (SV)

Though Nurseries from Generation 7 onwards haven't given EXP to Pokemon under their care (unlike Daycares in older games), those who still want the feature no longer need to worry about leveling up the Pokemon they don't use in battle.
