Air Slash | Esper Wing |
Heat Wave | Tera Blast |
Air Slash is Hisuian Braviary's most consistent STAB move for this set, and will likely be the move you click most.
Esper Wing is another STAB Move that will always raise its Speed by one stage. This is valuable considering Hisuian Braviary's mediocre Speed.
Heat Wave is Hisuian Braviary's most potent coverage move, being able to threaten the likes of Kingambit ang Gholdengo.
Tera Blast turns into a Fairy-type Move in this set, giving Hisuian Braviary coverage against Dark-types.

Full Special Attack and Speed EV investment is necessary so that Hisuian Braviary can hit hard and as fast as possible, with the remaining 4 EVs in Defense to round off its bulk.
Tailwind | Tailwind is a decent option if Hisuian Braviary and the rest of its team need a Speed boost. |

The Ability chosen for Hisuian Braviary is Sheer Force to boost its offensive options' damage output. Additionally, we also run Life Orb to boost it further.
Psychic | Hurricane |
Heat Wave | Trick Room |
Psychic is a consistent STAB option that isn't hindered by a low accuracy.
Hurricane is a powerful STAB option, which gets even more powerful with Hisuian Braviary's Ability and Held Item. It is, however, not 100% accurate.
Heat Wave is a reliable spread attack that can threaten Steel-types and Grass-types.
And lastly, Trick Room is in this set to Hisuian Braviary the option to reverse turn order, which can benefit Hisuian Braviary and its teammates.

Game8's Competitive Damage Calculator
Hisuian Braviary isn't always well-suited to start off matches, especially when you don't know what your opponent is leading with. Having it come in after a teammate has been KOd, and against slower Pokemon will be its best way to be effective. You can also switch it into a Fighting-type attack, which it 4x resists.
Hisuian Braviary does not take super-effective Dark and Ghost-type attacks very well. It is important to keep it safe against these, and choose to switch in a different Pokemon instead.
Hisuian Braviary is best used in team compositions with teammates that match up favorably against Dark-types. Fighting-types and Fairy-types are good teammates for Hisuian Braviary, as they can tilt bad matchups in your favor.
Special Attacker | Physical Attacker | Late-Game Sweeper |
---|---|---|
Hisuian Braviary | Iron Valiant | Kingambit |
Hisuian Braviary appreciates teammates that can help against its difficult matchups against Dark-types. Iron Valiant is an excellent Fairy-type Attacker, while Kingambit can switch into a Dark-type Attack. With Supreme Overlord, Kingambit can also clean up games, with access to Sucker Punch, as well as Steel and Dark-type Moves.
Special Attacker | Physical Attacker |
---|---|
Hisuian Braviary | Iron Hands |
Special Attacker | Backup Trick Room Setter / Special Attacker |
Torkoal | Farigiraf |
Iron Hands can protect Hisuian Braviary with Fake Out, allowing it to set up Trick Room. Iron Hands can also threaten Dark-types with its super-effective Fighting-type attacks.
Farigiraf can protect its team from Priority Moves, most notably Sucker Punch, and allow Hisuian Braviary to dish out offense.
Torkoal is the premiere Trick Room Attacker, and will usually win games if it is able to come in under Trick Room conditions.
Hisuian Braviary is fearfully weak to Sucker Punch. Pokemon who have STAB Sucker Punch are often great matchups against it, as they can usually win 1-on-1 against it.
