Wyrdeer's best Ability is Intimidate, which can reduce the damage potential of physically offensive foes. It is equipped with a Sitrus Berry to give it HP recovery during a match.
| Psyshield Bash | Trick Room |
| Protect | Imprison |
Psyshield Bash is a 70 BP attacking move that raises Wyrdeer's Defense by 1 stage, making it even more physically bulky.
Trick Room can reverse the turn order, allowing slower threats to outspeed quicker opponents.
Protect is good for keeping Wyrdeer safe for a turn.
Imprison when in a set with Trick Room and Protect, can lock opposing Pokemon out of using those moves, allowing you to keep a Speed advantage, or prevent them from protecting themselves.

Dark Tera can protect Wyrdeer from super-effective Dark-type attacks, and protect it from Prankster Taunt.
Best Dark Type Pokemon for Ranked Battle
Wyrdeer's EV spread for this build leans on making it a bulky Trick Room setter while being capable of dealing some physical damage. To achieve this, you should max out your HP and Attack EVs, while adding the remaining EVs into Special Defense, which when coupled with its Sassy Nature, can give Wyrdeer some hefty special bulk.
| Skill Swap | Skill Swapping with a teammate with Intimidate can allow you to trigger it multiple times. |

Kowtow Cleave 320 ~ 378 (152.3 ~ 180%) Guaranteed OHKO |

252 Sp. Atk |
Beads of Ruin Dark Pulse 59 ~ 69 (28 ~ 32.8%) Guaranteed 4-Hit KO |
Wyrdeer with Trick Room and Imprison can effectively give you control when Trick Room goes up. Imprisoning Protect can also lock opponents out of options to stall out Trick Room turns.
Wyrdeer's toolkit and stats make it a suitable Pokemon in Trick Room teams. Teammates that can help enable Trick Room are greatly appreciated, as well as slow teammates who flourish under Trick Room conditions.

Hisuian Lilligant

Torkoal

Wyrdeer can benefit from having a teammate that can help enable Trick Room, such as Iron Hands, who is a Fake Out user. Hisuian Lilligant can offer this team setup a 'Fast Mode', while Torkoal can work in and out of Trick Room with its synergy with the other Pokemon on the team.
Additionally, Wyrdeer can prevent Trick Room with Imprison, if Trick Room will put your team at a disadvantage.
Wyrdeer will not be able to survive powerful super-effective hits. While it can Terastallize to shed its weakness, it also forces the player to commit Tera, which is a valuable resource.
