Game8's Competitive Damage Calculator
Hisuian Decidueye's ability to run either a physical or special attacking set makes it an unpredictable Pokemon as even with team preview, the opponent has no idea what moves its carrying until you setup with your selected move.
Use this to your advantage to force switches against defensive Pokemon and slower attackers that it can outspeed.
Hisuian Decidueye has respectable bulk that, coupled with its key resistances, allows it to come into common attacking moves such as the very common Water, Grass, and Ground-types.
Hisuian Decidueye fits well in offensive teams that require a strong Grass or Fighting-type STAB, while the special attacking variants are great picks for dedicated attackers in Sun teams.
Lead Support | Physical Attacker | Special Attacker |
---|---|---|
Salamence | Hisuian Decidueye | Flutter Mane |
Salamence leads this singles team and fills the role of Tailwind support, which allows Hisuian Decidueye to outpace normally faster attackers with a Jolly Nature.
Flutter Mane fills the role of this team's special attacker, providing strong Fairy-type STAB that rounds off the team's coverage and synergizes well with Hisuian Decidueye as they can threaten each other's checks.
Lead Support | Special Attacker |
---|---|
Torkoal | Hisuian Decidueye |
Physical Attacker | Redirection Support |
Roaring Moon | Amoonguss |
This sun team requires Torkoal to set up harsh sunlight with its Drought Ability, ensuring that Hisuian Decidueye's Solar Beam doesn't need to charge to use.
Roaring Moon serves as this team's physical attacker, with the sun activating its Protosynthesis Ability to give it a 30% Attack boost.
Amoonguss is this team's redirection support, using Rage Powder so that Hisuian Decidueye or Roaring Moon can get several boosts up with their boosting moves.
Hisuian Decidueye has a low 60 Speed stat that leaves it easily outsped by a lot of common attackers and even some defensive Pokemon.
Both physical and special variants are particularly susceptible to getting checked by faster Flying-types that resists all of Hisuian Decidueye's moves and can outright KO it with their STAB moves.

I honestly think that Bulk Up is a solid alternative for Swords Dance. Sure, it may miss out on some damage, but since Hisuian Decidueye has some trouble staying on the field due to monsters like Ursaluna, Basculegion and Sneasler, that extra bulk can really come handy when going against them as well as neutral hits in general.

Agreed, H Decidueye doesn't have the best defense so that bulk can help it stay in the field longer
