Moveset Torch Song
Will-O-Wisp

Shadow Ball / Fire Blast

This moveset capitalizes on Skeledirge's high Special Attack. With a Modest Nature and a pair of Wise Glasses, moves like Torch Song and Hex will give enemies a rough time in battle.

Spamming Torch Song will further raise Skeledirge's Sp. Atk, eventually ensuring one-hit KOs against most Pokemon in an opponent's party. Also, remember to use Will-O-Wisp on your opponent before using Hex.

Except for Torch Song, keep in mind that you'll have to change most, if not all of Skeledirge's other moves if you want to give it a competitive build.

You can also give Skeledirge a Throat Spray since it synergizes well with Torch Song. You can also buy this item from Delibird Presents after obtaining 4 Badges, which is also roughly the same time Crocalor evolves into Skeledirge.

Weakness Protection:
Pokemon who use a Tera Type to reduce or remove one of their critical weaknesses.

Should You Terastallize Skeledirge?

Terastallized Pokemon gain a 1.5x damage bonus to moves of their Tera Type, while also removing weaknesses and resistances from their original typings while maintaining those typings' STAB.

Tera Types Explained

Skeledirge Best Nature

Nature & Stat Changes Explanation
Modest
SpAtk, Attack
Special Attack Master

A Modest Nature will raise Skeledirge's high SpAtk stat of 110, which will be further complemented by SpAtk-raising moves like Torch Song. Spamming the move will eventually have Skeledirge sweep most of the opponent's party as long as it hasn't fainted yet.
Bold
Defense, Attack
Anti-Attacker Tank

Alternatively, since Skeledirge's base SpAtk stat is already high, you can give it a Bold Nature instead and raise its Defense value of 100. Just use Torch Song to buff your SpAtk further.
Calm
SpDef, Attack
Special Attack Tank

Another good Nature for Skeledirge is Calm, which raises its Special Defense stat of 75. This makes it resistant to other Special Attackers that would normally threaten Skeledirge in a straight-up SpAtk-based fight.
